Can anyone tell me the sex of this 3 year old leopard?

That sure looks like a male tail to me. That and the oblong shape screams "male!" However, three isn't really mature yet. It might change as the tortoise grows.

I can't tell from that pic. Usually a male will have a pretty long tail by three years old, but not always.

I would bet $50 on male.

You might want to ad "Mr." before whatever it's name is. It looks male from what I see

Completely flat. My other leopard has a concave shell and a huge tail.ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1422821353.372036.jpg

That's a tough one. I would think if it was a male you would have been flashed by now. But I haven't personally seen a female with a tail similar to that. Maybe a more seasoned expert can help you out on this one.

The overall shell shape seems male.
The anal scutes are slightly female.
The cloaca is far from the body as in most males.
The overall tail length is not that long, especially after the cloaca.
The flat plastron is typical of females but not unheard of in males.

So I'm just confused and I would love to see what the verdict ends up being.

Are both of your leopards from the same source?

No- different backgrounds. The reptile vet wasn't able to say at last visit 9 months ago.
The smaller of the two is very aggressive towards the larger one- not sure if that makes a difference.

That usually indicates two males

I wouldn't use the flat/concave plastron judgments yet. I have a confirmed male who is almost 3 and it still perfectly flat.
Same thing with the anal scutes. At this age/size he's still too immature for the majority of the physical characteristics to be clearly one way or the other.

I may change my bet, it looks more like a female.

Amazing what a change in angle can reveal.
