View attachment 204926 Now Texas is becoming hot so I put him outside all day, he loves the nature and eats a lot every day. But .... yesterday disaster happened, i do not who did this, may be bird ? or mouse ?

Anyway, can he still survive ? What i need to treat him ?

That's a really horrific wound. Tortoises can survive quite a lot, but that looks like a lot of missing internal tissue. You need to get this tortoise to a vet. The wound needs to be cleaned and antibiotics will need to be administered. I am not sure what the odds of survival here are.

Yes, I bring him to vet this afternoon and they treat him antibiotics. But they said little hope as some internal wound and stuff missing.

Pithing is what your tortoise needs, Pellet gun to the back of the head works well. Sorry for your loss.

Oh my. That's just awful. I'm so sorry. That's what ravens and crows do to baby desert tortoises, so it looks like it was probably a bird. Geez. How awful for you to find him like that.

yes, at least he is still alive this morning when i leaving home. I clean him everyday with warm water. Vet asked me to monitor for 3 days, then talk to him....

No, he does not eat right now. The vet patched him and put something like a "hard shell" to cover that hole.
