I read somewhere that Box Turtles like canned cat foot. An elderly lady down the street had her 15 year old cat pass away,
and she had over 120, three oz. cans of Fancy Feast Cat Food that she gave to me.
The 1st time I gave it to them, they only ate a small bit of it.
But now, I give it to them twice a week and they gobble it right down.
Is there any side effects to giving them Cat Food ?
I don't need them to start howling at the moon during the night...

;)

I know its a pretty common thing to feed. There was a post in the box-turtle section earlier with a video of them going after it pretty aggressively off a finger.

That's a really interesting question that I can't answer but I'm looking forward to the experts answers.🤗I do know it's not recommended for dogs because it may have bones in it. Also the brand of the cat food might be something to consider.

Once or twice a week mixed in with greens and other goodies is fine. I wouldn't feed it to them every day.

I treat my red foot torts with cat food once a week. I use my cats’ ProPlan tuna canned food. They love it. Once a week is enough.
