So I'm curious as to if catnip is poisonous for tortoises or not?
I went through my seed collection today , checking my list and identified poisonous plants. Now I only want tortoise safe plants around! Usually, I like to grow a container of catnip for Baby-Face, my kitty. Is it safe, or unsafe to be around my outdoor red foot enclosure?

It's in the mint family, much of which is safe. Lots of herbs, like basil, oregano, and lavender; deadnettles.

Tortoise Table says to avoid because it makes birds drowsy but also that there are no known issues with tortoises. I can't tell you how to interpret that; I find the Tortoise Table to be overcautious at times.

I can't imagine my tortoise would eat it, as the smell is so strong. She's never been hungry enough to eat any herb with a strong smell.
