Hey there,

Was wanting to do some more work on my tort table. It has laminate flooring on top of plywood for the floor. The sides are laminate flooring with twin walled polycarbonate on the inside. The floor also is covered by industrial poly. I want to ensure that nothing leaks out of the sides and bottoms. Is caulking safe to use for this? Is some caulk better than others? (giggles a little) sorry... Caulking seems so chemically??? but I am usnsure of another way to seal seams. Any advice would be wonderful. :D
Cheers!

Silicone caulking works well. One thing is up may have to recaulk periodically because of tort activity.

I would use the silicone for aquariums. Hear it is more tort friendly, Less caustic chemicals in it. Cure time is faster. Just my opinion.

Sorry Robyn... a little confused.. Are you saying that you would use silicone solely for aquariums as opposed to tort tables-wood? If that is the case; what would you use to seal something other than glass seams?

Aquarium siilcone works fine on wood. As I said the only problem is the tort activity may eventually require reapplication.
