Gordon Ramzey himself said this was the best box turtle barf he'd seen in existence. What a guy. How am I supposed to stay humble? I guess I can share my recipe. No, but if you have a food processor this is cake...a weird one. First I take some greens such as dandelion, then I take an egg including the shell and toss it in, next I chop up a banana and apple and toss them in, I throw in some moist mazuri tortoise chow(you gotta throw it like a pitch), two chicken thighs (what I had) with the bones depending on your processor, and lastly a little olive oil. I put it in zip lock bags and freeze it up. I feed it once a week. This batch usually lasts me four weeks.

I've got several NINJA products.
They're great
Love em
I should he never uses it any more. He wanted one for either his B-day or xmas. He was like 12 or near there. He is now 25. He used it a lot for a couple years.
It's definitely yours for the taking.🤣I'm a year older than him.

How much olive oil do you put in? I want to try a small amount for my desert box turtle, Paxton. Also, can he eat the mazuri for tortoises? Sorry so many questions. I gave him a small piece of boiled chicken thigh (no bone, he is still small) and a small piece of boiled shrimp. He devoured the chicken first. I was surprised.

I don't go crazy with it, but it depends on the batch. I put in a teaspoon of olive oil.

Mine eat the mazuri tortoise chow and the mazuri aquatic diet. Surprisingly my torts could care less about it.

I predominantly feed insects, worms, and let them forage for things as well in their enclosures. As far as this, I'm offering it once a week(all raw ingredients) switching things up, seeing what they like most.

I might replace the chicken with a whole fish, or apples for blue berries, or strawberries. They love it.

Thank you. I didn't use the olive oil. I only have 1 desert box turtle who it only 9 or 10 months old. I boiled 3 small (about nickel size) pieces of chicken, mazuri tortoise, mulberry pellets, cooked corn, collard greens, tomatoes, and blueberries, and half of a hard boiled egg in one small baggie, the other half I froze. I feed Paxton mostly earthworms, crickets, mealworms, and occasionally small minnows or ghost shrimp. I always give him fruits and greens first, however he only is interested in live insects. He is too little to be outside. I'm still trying to figure out what Paxton likes to eat.

Yeah, they're all different. I have some that won't eat foods everyone eats.

I have my hatchlings in like a wood screen box outside.

Do all of yours eat fruit and greens? If so, which ones? I just want to give him a variety of food. Sorry for so many questions.

Not a bother. They'll go for fruits willingly, but not so much as veggies. I usually sneak dandelion greens in their diet, and other broadleaf weeds, but they do eat plants outdoors.

They will eat things like romaine and iceberg lettuce on their own though.

I do sprinkle a variety of leaves from kapidolo farms, that the tortoises eat. I was concerned about Paxton not eating fruit. He will occasionally eat blueberries and bananas. I have tried mango, cantaloupe, blackberries, raspberries and honeydew. He is picky. Thank you again

While I will never go to the lengths DD does because I'm not "cooking for 20", I like that you provide a nice variety Ink! Can you imagine a Eastern Box turtle stumbling onto a banana or a cut piece of steak in Nature in the MVD area? LOL
