Just a quick question.

I don't know where but I seem to heard that if you buy a cherry head that it might not be a cherry head. Like, the color will fade away when it gets older and the color will never go back. Is this true or just a baseless rumor that I've heard?

Like, my friend wants to buy a cherry head from this particular guy but it's born somewhere in 2021 so it's not even 1 year old. Like I already just said, is it 100% a cherry head if the tortoise has a red head? Or is it only 100% once it's old?

Edit: Sorry for my bad english

No, if the tortoise is truly from the area of Brazil where they originated, they retain their color and stay fairly small. There are certain traits to look for before purchasing.

Some unscrupulous sellers sell brightly colored Northerns as CHERRY HEADS.
The bright colors don't mean anything.
True CHERTYHEADS have different nose scales, dark plastrons and small arm spurs.
They are a true separate sub species.
Take a photo of the underside of the tortoise and a clear photo of his/her face. We can tell if you have a true CHERRY.
Most spectacularly colorful REDFOOT stay beautiful for life. CHERRYHEAD or not.
