I saw something online that said to use diluted apple cider vinegar and a toothbrush to clean a tortoise/turtle shell. IDK if this is true or if it works, has anyone tried this before or have any other cleaning tips?

I put my tortoises in the sink with warm water. Give the shell a scrub with a soft tooth brush. Take out and dry. Make up a mixture of 4 parts linseed oil and 1 part clove oil and brush it on. leave for 10-15 minutes, then buff up with dry cloth. The oil helps to keep the scutts in good condition and moisturised.

Diluted vinegar wouldn't be harmful. It works great on windows! However, it would sting like crazy if the tortoise has a scratch or injury.

I occasionally scrub my tortoises after they get a soak/bath. I use an oval green vegetable brush I found at Dollar Tree.
