About a week ago, my little brother brought home a turtle they found on the green at a golf course. He seems to be doing well, we've seen him eat, and he swims around a lot. :) Here are pics of him and his tank. Hoping to get him at least a 125 gallon tank some day soon. (and we still need to get bulbs for the lights we got him, and get a different top)

He really needs more water in his tank. Don't be mad, but he is a wild turtle and you should find a nice pond to release him in.

I know, but the thing is, I'm only 14 so I don't have much control of wether we release him or not. And my brother is only 8, so he'd be heartbroken. And my Mom's boyfriend is also the type of guy who would never pay for an animal if he can find it for free. And this set up is temporary. But for now there's no way to add more water. :( would it help if we got a big kiddie pool and gave him time to swim in that? We're already planning on giving him time outside whenever it's possible.

ok, I understand. I would suggest a basking light is really needed to help warm him. Painted turtles love to bask!

Yeah, we have the lamp itself for that, but need to find a bulb.
