Greetings. Yes to both of your questions! Lots of info here on the forum praising the nenefits of this substance as a good substrate to utilize with your torts.

I use this and like it. Coco coir holds moisture a bit better, but for larger tortoises this is a lot less messy.

I use coco coil also. Very good substrate.
