Good morning all, it will be a chilly day for us.

Didn't see any northern lights, I think I missed them, but also don't have a clear view north from my street because of other houses and it was a bit late to be wandering to a spot where I would, so maybe next time -whenever that is.

My trail cameras didn't spot any hedgehogs last night,😞 just ratty who has had a good meal in the feeding box. So far he has avoided the trap, but I have a good idea of where he's coming from so going to try to tempt him into it with some stronger smelling food. I was hoping to catch him when it was warmer but he'll have to take his chances now. I don't know how he's managed to outwit the 3 local cats who are looking for him and even the fresh mint I've been leaving around hasn't put him off but rats are very clever, determined animals especially when hungry so game on!!

I hope you all have a lovely Sunday.

he positioned himself so that he could look out of his door and he did eat when given room service, but he had no intention of coming out to eat his food
Matt has been doing that but not eating for 2 days here. This morning I moved his food right next to him and he was nose into it when I came outside. It's his favorite so we'll see.

I moved Matt the box turtle inside the other day to a brand new home for him. It apparently doesn't "sparkle" with him.

I'm glad his bigger cousins do the same Lyn. Yeah, I forgot about Joe's eye issues..what a shame.

Kerry and Dad are halfway home from NY and no, my blood pressure doesn't magically get better when Kerry is gone!
WHEW....Mark and Ray met her....it really could have been the cause! LOL

I've got company this morning. 5 deer.17288195563017532227443633068650.jpg17288196130603837172451535807899.jpg

Internet not sorted out yet?
I think you can claim some sort of refund or compensation from your provider if it's off for some time - can't remember how long though but should be in your agreement.

Lovely to have those in your backyard.
We do have Reeves muntjac deer in my area which sometimes venture into gardens but they are regarded as pests by many, so not always welcome.
They are an invasive species, having been introduced to Woburn Park, Bedfordshire in the early 1900s from China and inevitably spread. They were protected under the Deer Act of 1991, but I think that has changed now and they are not to be re - released if caught or taken to wildlife centres and have to spend the rest of their natural lives in captivity, or euthanized I suppose:(.
I've never actually see one, I think people living near forests see them quite often.

Lola has now spent 3 days in his hide, but has eaten the food I've left inside his door. Whether he likes it or not he's coming out tomorrow for a soak!

I wonder if it's something to do with the skin graft I had under the eye. It has always been a bit puffy since I had that done so maybe the usual drainage of the eye has been affected. I have to go back to the opticians on Friday to double check, the pressure it so I'll ask then.
The eye specialist told me that they don't really understand why some people start developing high pressure in the eye. First it was one eye for Joe for many years and then the other eye was affected too. What started out as 2 medicines in one eye became 4 in both eyes 3 times a day. I hope you don't have to go through all of that. It's hard to keep track of. I use a graph paper to do it and not get confused.

Sounds like Joe and you have a lot to deal with. It must be hard keeping track of his treatment.
I must admit when I was told that glaucoma is a possible cause I was quite worried because, my left eye has always been very weak, but the strong right eye has compensated for it, so I thought I could end up practically blind. I now know that if glaucoma is diagnosed, there are treatments available, so it's not the end of the world. Nothing's definite yet, so no point in worrying until I know what's what.

Yes 👍 thank God they're on it for you. I found out a lot online. Here in the US they're beginning to believe the lazor treatment is the best first treatment. At least that's what I found online. But drops work too. It was a bit scary for me to get Joe's lazor treatment done. I was making a decision for Joe that I couldn't explain to him without scaring him half to death. I don't like having that power over another person's life without telling them. I decided to tell him just watch the light. For him it was imperative that it be done. Otherwise he would have been blind and profoundly deaf. You will be able to tell someone right away when you need more. Joe couldn't. And even if it is glaucoma starting there's treatments now if caught earlier.

Yeah Tidgy and I are Hang-gliding over the medina in mankinis.
How come the word "proclivities" comes to mind?
LOL

I kinda feel honored....i thought the author "tigys dad" had passed away.....sorry bud, I didn't mean to kill you off. I just figured a 10000 page tread had to be started by someone who had long since passed. Glad to see you aren't a dead guy. LOL

We went to St Michael's in son's boat today with his girlfriend and Dad. Was a bit choppy out in Eastern bay for 94 year old Dad but we had a great time. The town is decorated for Fall.

It was our first ride in it. The boat is nice and only needs some minor upholstery done. Those big 250 outboards are QUIET yet it leaps out of the water from idle and instantly sets down on plane. I was really impressed....and I used to race a hydroplane!20241013_154018_HDR.jpg

It's 2:30am and I'm liking the lights Kerry put up in the gazebo..its a warm morning so far. I think today will be a rest day or something just like it.

I realized something yesterday. Every single rich guy that I worked for who isn't dead, IS STILL WORKING! They can't help themselves...ah well, not my deal but I do find quite a lot to like there!

Big Matt is still stressed with his move. I may need to fit a cover on one half of his new bin. It's very shallow at 7.5" and while he comes out to warm, he's not eating or bathing yet. His leaf pile is his friend, with his head sticking out!

Lola wasn't too happy about being dragged out of his pit this morning, but after a long warm soak, he has perked up and is much more active - even wandered out to the garden for a quick look before wandering back in again and eaten in his usual place. Amazing what a nice bath can do for you!

I hope Matt settles in soon - a covered area may help him feel more secure.

Good morning afternoon all.
After quite a wet night it is drier and warmer today.

I'm still trying to catch ratty. He has eaten some of the bait food in the unset trap during the night, so I set it this morning and been hoping I could catch him to relocate him during daylight, but he must be too full. I don't want to trap him at night because he would be in there for hours which will be very stressful for him; as much as I want him gone I don't want to cause unnecessary suffering - he'll be scared enough in a strange area.
I'm going ing to have a quick walk to the library now so have a good Monday and see you later.

I am a dead guy.
This is just my spirit or soul or ghost or whatever dropping by to say hello.
