Thank you!!!
Exactly how many of those windmills sit on your land??? It looks very spacious there! I understand your frustrations A. FWIW- I check with local publications like "neighborhood" apps that cover your areas when looking for a tradesman. Folks will usually say if they did a good job. I search for the best SINGLE MAN company talent i can find. I generally stay away from large corporations as they have a "machine" to feed. The price will almost always be the same as the crappy guy. The other thing that you can do is to read and educate yourself about those systems. They really aren't very complicated but do require an electrical test meter to determine where the failure is. If you have battery storage, please be very careful as the battery farm can be dangerous with its power management.

Ray, I'm down with that but there's no need for us to go in person. I've got a bunch of questionable friends over there with very loud motorcycles, drinking problems and bad attitudes towards those who hurt our friends. Of course they are mostly old like me but old guys are tough. We don't give a sh*t anymore!

Anyone else notice how nice N's toenails look? No, I do not have a fetish. I'm just jealous....i have nasty toenails. :(
LOL

Visitors in the yard yesterday

Kerry and i were sitting outside yesterday afternoon after taking a 2 mile walk (we aee building strength for a 30 day Yellowstone trip next year) ....and we saw Knobby the young buck sleeping in the yard. He was just inside the woods, laying in a patch of sunshine at the bottom of the hill. He woke after a bit, rubbed his velvet covered antlers and got up to browse. Very cool. It's like being taken to a Nature Show every day !

I don't have anyone across the pond that could help Lyn. But I would sure like to be there. If you happen to put something together. 😅
All my go to guys in the north east are getting old also. They did help me out recently with a problem. That's all I will say about that. But their attitude was the same. They are to old to worry about the consequences..Yellowstone is on my bucket list. I was there when I was 4. The only thing I vaguely remember. They had a bear in a cage. You put your money in like a vending machine. A glass bottle of coke would be dispensed to the bear. The bear would chug it down. I am sure it wasn't in the park but on the way. I don't know if I remember that. Or the pictures I saw reminded me.
I sure they could get away with that in 1962. I don't think it could happen now.

I have just one and the reason I agreed to let it happen because I have only 27acres in this area. And it was not possible to fight against since everyone was happy to lease their land for windmills. I don't know where the energy is stored, and I don't know how the company maintains those windmills. I still believe it was not the best idea to place windmills in Central Texas because of the severe storms in spring season.

Well, I'm fit to be tied. 20 months ago I had a new solar PV system installed, then the Manufacturer/Installer (SunPower) declared bankruptcy 7 months later. They were not a small company. In June the Batteries were showing no state of charge. Tech support/warrantee is now gone. Went online found a guy who lives 40 miles away that had worked on SunPower in the past. He was able to talk me through a repair/restart @$450. Now Yesterday night I saw a big RED "world" Icon . . .crud!. Batteries not discharging over night. Gotta try contacting "The Guy" Emilio to see if he can help me again. Beginning to think my $60k system was not such a good idea. I desperately hate Tesla, but they may have been a better choice. Ah, the aggravation.
Recently I had a guy from a solar company trying to sell me a solar system. The bottom line was with his calculations. Was it would cost me 30,000 over 25 years plus interest. I would save 17,000 in electricity in that time frame. Even if I paid cash it wouldn't be worth it. He said I will be helping the environment. He still didn't get the sale. I guess with my attitude is one of the reasons we are in the predicament with global climate change. Let the next generation worry about it. ☹️

Did the wind do that?
In Michigan each windmill is on a 5 acre area.

My friends have solar panels on their house (looks ugly), they don't have a storage for the energy and as far as I know they are not happy with their decision. And I was told by the realtor that it would be hard to sell the house with solar panels because not many people are ready for it.

I also worried about the house insurance coverage. If a hurricane ripped off the solar panels. The insurance wouldn't cover the panels or the roof. Plus after 25 years the warranty has ended. During that 25 years you have to worry if the company stays in business.
I have a solar panel for my hot water heater. I did not see much of a drop in electricity usage. It was a very poor decision on my part. 😫

Yeah, insurance is a joke. Warranty is a joke too.

That's too bad that they won't give a captive bear a bottle of coke now and then. They love it .
