We all could write books on health care/ insurance couldn't we? I hope they can get you in sooner Lyn, dental issues can be very painful. Kerry just got a new rear molar screwed into place just yesterday. We already paid for it. I believe I once bought a brand new 1980 Chevy Chevette for 5300 dollars, her tooth was 300 less. We paid 2500 of that. Ouch!

I got away from going to NY in 2 weeks for her dad's birthday. It's all her family and it's a group I don't really connect with so im going to stay home. Kerry will go up then come home on Sunday. It's cool, I don't do things that i don't want to do...she knows who she married thankfully. On Monday we are leaving for a vacation to New England. We will go via Plymouth so Kerry can see Plymouth Rock. We are heading to Maine to spend time with friends who live in the brown house on the oceanfront at the top of this picture I took of a you tube video! See the house around the bend at the top? Looks to be gorgeous so im excited to go. Not sure how long yet but that should all begin falling into place over the next week or so. There are a lot of places we want to see while we are up there like the tidal walk between Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Im trying to convince Kerry to do the beehive hike there but she has a fear of heights and I don't breath too well so we'll see.View attachment 394084

I was hoping to see "morning sun" on our front yard for the 1st time ever since our neighbors had trees removed yesterday but it figures, it's cloudy and hazy this morning! LOL
That sounds like a great trip. I love seeing pictures of New England in the fall/autumn. It's one area I would like to visit.
I hope you have a wonderful time.

It was probably the Dominos rather than the clearing out prior. I'm pretty sure it barely qualifies as "food fit for human consumption". I had a rescue dog that must have been with college kids before she came to live with me. She loved pizza. During that same time my son was helping his buddy in the family's Pizzaria that made excellent real hand-made pizza. The dog waited by the door anytime she heard his car so she'd be first in line for the good pizza. In the daytime he cleaned for a tourist short term rental. There was a day when he brought home a Dominos left at the rental. As per their routine he opened the box as soon as he got home and gave the dog a slice. She looked at him like he was traitor, took two steps back, deposited it on the floor, and walked away.

And just found this on YouTube yesterday ~
After watching that video. I think I will go to the mom and pop pizza place. And ask them to take me on a tour of their kitchen. 😅

eh, I think Dominos is one of the better chain pizzas. For the top 5 chains I think it goes:
Marcos
Dominos
Papa Johns
Pizza Hut
Little Caesars
Where a I grew up there were huge Italian and Sicilian populations, so I was really spoiled about good, hand-made pizza and didn't know there could be any other kind. In the 1970s and '80s Pizza Hut had an impressive and affordable salad bar. During those years I drove all over the Country and made a point of eating my main meal in the afternoon at their salad bar just before the prices increased for the dinner trade. I would sometimes get a pizza, too, and noticed I would have indigestion for about 24 hours on those days. Eventually I found out that their "cheese" was expanded with some kind of oil, and my stomach just doesn't like to deal with oil. It looked ok, but really was a Frankenfood. So their pizza was one of the first I quit having.

There's a chain here called Black Jack's Pizza that is quite good. Or at least it used to be, I haven't had any of theirs in a long time because the nearest one is in the vicinity of fifty miles away from where I live (and there was that really good hand-made one my kid's buddy's family ran really close by.)

Took a bus to my hometown that has originally started from Warsaw. When in line for boarding the driver asked me where I was going. I quickly realized the question was pointless as he didn't know a word of Finnish, let alone regonize spoken city names compared to written. I answered anyway, but in the end I had to show my ticket.

It is my first time using this company, but the price can't be beaten and the seats are comfortable so I am absolutely going again.

Finnish language is absolutely cool! I have a good friend from Finland, and I always ask her to speak Finnish when she visits me.

That is some viciously good looking cake!

FT, I have experienced exactly what you are talking about but in reverse. I actually think if they explain it that i will understand. Over here we call those people: spouse

I told Kerry that we can go into DC at the Mall to see the Monuments without feeling like i have a target on my back!
No matter my attitude or likely false sense of ability, changes the fact that I look like an old man, one that would be easy. I can't put Kerry at risk so we generally stay out of those places other than 11AM. Might be neat. I stopped taking dates down there when i met Kerry.

They have a devastating affect on birds too because they don't see the blades.😟 The UK is set to have hundreds of off shore windmills in the next few years. I hate them. Solar panels would be better. I don't know why they can't invent some sort of dynamo under road surfaces so that cars could help generate electricity.
Well, it's the "windmill" type of generators that are hard on birds, the several other designs that are not as harmful, there is the Vertical Turbine Egg Beater Type (Darrieus turbine can either be straight, curved, or helical in shape), and a similar to the Darrieus is the Savonius style VAWTs use the principle of drag to convert wind energy into mechanical rotational energy. the last two types are more bird friendly.

I had a mammogram a couple of weeks ago. What a torture they are!
Glad you found your keys. At least neighbour didn't keep them and try to move in to your flat when he's evicted.
Torture, YES. Last mammogram I had in 2024, the Technician for lack of a better term "Man Handled" me. SHE was NOT gentle, and had me do several views multiple times. I know it is a necessity but . . really!
And today I have a (PLFT) Pulmonary Lung Function Test. I hate this test, They are looking for the volume & efficiency of my lungs. I was diagnosed with emphysema last year. and I have never been a smoker. Blow, blow, keep blowing, keep bowing, your almost there, keep going, ok, your done! Ok, one more time.....
Sorry, I didn't have any more to blow after the first five seconds....o_O

It's weird because even though I don't really get the flu shot every year I was considering the shingles vaccine the last few weeks. I was planning on getting it. Now I KNOW I'm getting it. And I will recommend it to everyone that has had chicken pox. This is awful 😞
My ex GF is just now getting over shingles, She got the vaccine a year or so ago, as I have also, along with the pneumococcal vaccine. She said it started out feeling like a sunburn, even though she had not been in much sun, and then a rash developed. Apparently there is No treatment, all you can do is try to control the pain. It kinda ran it's course over a month.

The Mall. I will never forget my experience with that. Last year I attended ASTRO (annual oncology meeting) and one day I was offered to go to see the Mall. I was excited. We were walking, enjoying monuments and I couldn't wait to go to the Mall😅 I had no idea that the Mall was not a shopping center 😅

My brother in law has just been diagnosed with emphysema, and although he was once a smoker he doesn't have any symptoms they told him he has it because he has has the gene. This was complete news to all of us. None of us knew it was genetic.
I hope all goes/went well with the tests today. I have the lung function test because I have asthma.
