I did know the Welsh for tortoise, though quite a lot of Welsh people don't !Possibly it is because tortoises are not common pets there, especially in the hilly areas ! I'm not insulting the Welsh, by the way - my father was Welsh, my mother was Irish, I was born in England, my husband was born in Scotland, but grew up in Canada - and my brother is now a French citizen ! And Zola was actually born in Holland !If you use Google Translate you can find the translation in dozens of languages.
The Welsh for tortoise is crwban (pronounced crewban)
Anyway, looking up translations of the word on Google seems like cheating -we have to have actually met someone from wherever it is !
