In my defense...there wasn't Internet then...
I get it Maggie...A LOT of us did things that we find out now, were very wrong.

Sorry to hear about their passing that way but if I know you, you got them as some kind of rescue (her sister say she drags animals home) and did your best to care for them. Don't feel bad over it....spilt milk and all! LOL
I caught one as a baby many, many years ago and we had him 14 years in a 50 gallon tank. I grew up on the Bay so we knew that Maryland Diamondbacks needed brackish water and he started in pure water from the Bay since I had a plastic 55 gal drum (that was fun in a Subaru Legacy Wagon....the "big " car)......then over the next two years my son and I introduced more and more fresh water and he made the transition. He was the most beautiful turtle we ever had. He passed and Kyle now 14, replaced him with a freakish Oscar he got from one of the owners of the local fish store who knew his target audience. Kyle played sports and always seemed to have "the usual suspects" in his realm who were more than generous feeding that beast. Kyle grad'ed high school, went to college, then law school and it finally passed while in my care after a few years, it was 15.75" long, dead!

You girls won't like it but I used to tease my dates that I fed it live mice or a baby bunny, but I wouldn't do it while they were there. He's a sick man, but you know he did it, more than once cause he's a little off that way.

Mark is very fortunate, Smithsonian spares no expense...he's prob working/playing with some great talent!

I did a walk of the yard when I got here to Kerrys....the Nook....ahhhhhhh. It's like 45F out but darned if it doesn't "feel" like snow. I didn't sleep last night very much so I'm cold today....hmmm, maybe it's just me.

It's been kinda cold today. The temperature outback is 32°f about now and it's a little windy. I have 2 little wind chimes. So I turned off all noise and just listened. Between the birds and the wind chimes I have a choir concert 😊

Why does this stuff happen to plumbers? I'm up so I go to make coffee.....no water!

I have a well & softener combination......I go downstairs at 2AM....yuck.

Well pump is fine, lots of pressure at the tank.....yet not a drop upstairs????

The Iron filter was in backwash but I thought I still got water when it did......but honestly, it does it at 2AM(scheduled) so I'm typically not running water at that time. I'll call the manufacturer this morning to find out.

Waters back on.....I did nothing.....strange!

Raining softly here and 40F...no snow....darn.
Maybe an air lock?
Those are the sort of problems I don't mind having - the ones that sort themselves out!
(Tip - Fill the kettle before bed in case it happens again so you can have your coffee)

Good afternoon/evening all,
We've had a lovely sunny, bright but windy dry day here so some respite from the recent monsoons, but it's short lived as we have another belt of heavy rain on its way tonight.:(. Lots of places hit by floods around Wales and the UK but so far Ok in my area. Next week looks to be a drier but colder. 🤞
I hope your all having a good Friday.

Diolch yn fawr - Thank you! :)
Spent the afternoon in Cardiff. We were going to have lunch in the castle but it was closed today. It was very windy but just very thankful it was dry (and the trains were running normally)
Hope everything's progressing well with the house purchase.

👍 Since I don't have good tap water I keep gallons of spring water for drinking and especially for my coffee every day.. I'm sooo picky about my coffee though. It's gotta be good water and coffee. The heated water poured over a brown filter and a pour over porcelain coffee pot. Never hurts to have some drinking water on hand and You won't go without coffee ☕

House is purchased and we have been in a month...disasters around gas metering but hey. Hope your electric is coming along!

I've promised myself a trip to the castle for my birthday for years...I must check dates they open before I do. Glad you had a lovely day...trains must have been running for your birthday!

I forgot to mention the latest problem I have which unfortunately won't solve itself. As I was going out yesterday and was locking the front door the key snapped in the lock and is well and truly stuck.
It's too far in to try any of the usual ways of removing it but at least I can lock it from the inside and luckily I have rear access to my house so can use the door at the back of the house, but I may have to buy a new lock. My brother in law is going to see if he can sort it out for me - if he left it to me I'd probably end up needing a new door!

I think the castle was just closed for routine maintenance today so we were just unlucky (well it is Friday 13th!). I've not been in there for many years so was looking forward to it but we'll go another day.
Trains very hit and miss with the strikes and line work lately but I was glad all was Ok to save me driving down.
Still waiting for the electrician who has covid now but hopefully it won't be too long. Good luck with the gas work!

Wow. I've had to replace doorknobs for Joe constantly. But here's the thing, the ones I buy are warranted. It could be free if it is.
I usually don't have time to wait though so I just buy another doorknob. Is yours under warrenty?
