I think the batteries are more than that but I could be wrong. And I'm not sure if they are a diy project. I have a friend though that knows. I'll call and ask.I have always taken the chair in for service where I got it. I should look at the owners manual and see how to change the batteries. I have never priced out the batteries because the repair bill is always sent to the insurance company.
I have a agreement with my insurance handler. That if we are going to purchase anything over 500.00 for my care. That we get approval from them first. We don't abuse it, so they have been very accommodating. So if the batteries are less than 500.00 and I can change myself. That's what I will do. There have been a few things that have broken on the chair.I have purchased the parts on Amazon and repaired myself. I know I saved the insurance company a lot of money.
