Lost power at 2am. I will keep you posted but won't do as often. Need to conserve battery
Hope power is soon restored Ray, and I'm hoping the worst is over for you soon. I think it must be almost 8 am in Florida now, and I've been watching the news - hope you're high enough not to be flooded.

Thanks Lyn, power came on about 10:30am. This area is maybe 20yrs old. When they started to develop in this area. The drainage system is real good. We haven't had a problem with flooding yet.

That's good news Ray, so pleased you're ok. I hope Ed (zeropilot) hasn't been too badly affected as well, I don't know which side of Florida he is on, hopefully nowhere near the worst hit areas. I bet Opo and Sully are wondering what's happening!

Power back on. Time for a little cat nap.
Good! I've been watching constantly on this hurricane for some reason. Florida must be getting better and better at dealing with these types of events. I was thinking a prayer got answered at least a little when I heard instead of a 15 foot wall of water Tampa got a lower low tide then usual. I had heard they were the most vulnerable place to take a direct hit. And another prayer was answered too. You and yours are safe and have your electric.

Ex wife made it known at 6am that she survived. Said it was nothing much. im glad for her. She isn't built for battling nature.

When my Baltimore weather folks on 11 & 13 spent 70% of their time Wed giving US in the Baltimore region ( 70F and sunny all week) "hurricane preparedness" instructions, I know they are just part of the hype machine designed to make you afraid of everything. LOL

Exactly Jeff, if I watch the news about the hurricane. It gets redundant after awhile. Then they start to embellish on the situation. I watch the updates and change the channel. To sit and watch the 4 hrs in between updates is useless.

I can almost understand it where you live Ray because you guys are in the storm-belt.
But...
The Boy who cried Wolf,

....told more than 1 story.

LOL

cool day today...a pretty 65F. Kerry got her firepit before she goes to NY to get Dad tomorrow & bring him back Sunday for a couple of weeks.

Yesterday she put up the lights she got as a gift 3 yrs ago after I assembled it for her. She loves it and my heart smiles when I see her face. It's getting cool out and dad has been carbon dated to '30 so she pampers the guy who was in the army overseas during the "occupation years". Doesn't make sense to me or to him....we have discussed his daughters (2 and they both do it) pampering. I need pointers!

Time to take down the ffeeders....i keep waiting, just in case 1 poor guy needs a boost.

I hear the geese landing 300 yds away...the local guy is giving flying lessons, Kerry is grocery shopping and I'm enjoying the afternoon!

Oh, began blood pressure meds yesterday, still 140/95 but up and down....if I take it when Kerry isn't here and it's 118/72, do I tell her? Or just take the meds and accept that the cost of being married to wonder woman is 20-40 points?

Still having internet issues but an engineer has said that there are issues with a telegraph pole. Looking forward to concert tonight. Has anyone had issues trying to post on here?

All working fine on this side of the pond M.

We all got up this morning at 4. Kerry is on her way to NY and I'm listening to the rooster across the river and an owl. I brought out my nightvision monocular....the green kind but I don't see anything yet.

I'm in the same spot I posted from this morning....lol
I did a couple things in between though.
Ate breakfast (beef pot pie) fruit, milk
Played with Matt the turtle...hes inside now.
Showered shaved and went up to where Kerry's car for sale was....and sold it.
Hung out with other old guys at the local motorcycle shop.
Watched South Carolina very nearly upset those red guys.
Went for a bike ride to the water.
Ate dinner....1.88lbs of NY Strip and a package of Krimpets! I have just enough left over to make S & E in the morning! And yes, Matt got his before I sat to eat!

Good afternoon /evening all.
Temps have really dropped the last couple of days, mid 40f at best and down to mid 30f tonight. It has been mostly dry though.

Lola hasn't left his hide for 2 days. I think he noticed the change in spite of his heating. He didn't eat at all yesterday and stayed tucked in his corner. Today he positioned himself so that he could look out of his door and he did eat when given room service, but he had no intention of coming out to eat his food -stubborn tortoise!!

The hedgehogs are still coming
to eat and fatten up for the winter, but they'll be wanting to stay in their warm nests soon.

I had an opticians appt yesterday, and there is a 'freckle' on my left eye and high pressure in my right so I've been referred to an eye hospital. I haven't noticed any drastic changes with my sight but more tests are needed. The freckle could become cancerous and the other could lead to glaucoma, so the sooner they are checked the better.

I'm popping out in a while to see if I can see the northern lights, which have been visible over the UK for a few nights - nothing wrong with my eyes!👀😄 TTFN

The Northern lights have been visible here for a couple of nights too. I would have to go out to the country to see them though. There's two many lights in the city. Hopefully you won't have to be put on drops for the high pressure eye. But it's better than losing sight. Joe's on 4 different drops that are administered in a crazy way. Three of them in the morning. Two in the afternoon and 4 in the evening. That's even after lazor surgery. They poked a hole in each eye. High pressure is nothing to mess with. He did lose some sight before he got stabalized. I hope they can get the pressure down quickly for you and keep it down 🤗🙏

I wonder if it's something to do with the skin graft I had under the eye. It has always been a bit puffy since I had that done so maybe the usual drainage of the eye has been affected. I have to go back to the opticians on Friday to double check, the pressure it so I'll ask then.
