Snow doesn't close schools over here. Neither does extreme temperatures, but extreme cold might cancel outdoor recess or outdoor PE. It depends from school to school, but the limit is usually somewhere between -25 to -30 (-13 F to -22 F). These temperatures commonly won't be reached until January or February.
Probably, yeah. Morocco is a bit slower with many things.

Jacky has been sleeping since and because I was concerned about her hibernating after just over a fortnight of fasting I emailed the vet. They replied saying that she is within the guidelines but they would have preferred her to have gone into hibernation more. They also said "it seems Jacky has other ideas and has brought hibernation forward"!
. The vet says it is best to leave her as she is before commencing fridge hibernation. They also recommend weighing during hibernation which have never done unless she wakes up. Tom doesn't weigh his tortoises during hibernation and I am inclined to agree with this because I don't want to wake her up!

Thanks for the info. I have been looking on Marketplace. Never came across a electric lift. Came across pneumatic lifts but it was more than I wanted to spend. Even the used lifts prices were crazy. I settled for the foot control. I have used them before and still have one good leg. But now you're making me to question myself.

The UK is never prepared for snow. These days schools are worried about being sued by parents for any accidents their kiddies might have if they slip on ice or get hit by a snowball. They also could be short staffed if teachers haven't been able to get to work.
There was a time I'd be tempted to pile all the snow outside my door so that I could ring and 'truthfully' say I couldn't leave the house

Well another Halloween passed and no trick or treaters. We always buy a couple of bags of candy just in case. Well I guess I will have to eat them. Our neighborhood has really grown with new homes. I figured maybe this year.
I don't think any kids were trick or treating in my street. I bought treats for the the little ones and went out a few times to see if they were on the way around but no one was out not even the older kids.
I was going to go up into my attic to find my old broomstick to park on the doorstep so that they would know they were welcome, but I'm glad I didn't.

Me too since I'm retired. And when I was a kid school let out for the day if it was bad enough. And when I actually worked my car got stuck so I can't get there
I love temu for beads. I can get large amounts for really cheap. I've seen the same ones in packages of maybe 6 beads at JoAnn's for way more than I paid to begin with. Temu is good for certain things.
