My first competition I froze up. I couldn't get any air and my fingers wouldn't move.

I got to the exam centre and my grade 4 Pianist was already doing his exam as they were running early. My violinist was there and I helped her set up but the steward came in asked for her before she'd had a warm-up and before her slot. Therefore I asked if we could have a warm-up before her allotted time and then we went in. 'Waltz From Sleeping Beauty' went well and 'We're Off To See The Wizard' started well but my pupil's playing started to come apart two thirds of the way through so I asked for a re-start which went well. Unfortunately when playing for exams you can hear them make mistakes that they didn't make in the lessons but I think she pulled through.

The farmer turned on his wind machines in the orange grove around midnight last night. They run diesel engines with large propellers on the to keep the frost off the oranges.

Today I was going to empty my swimming pool, clean it, refill it and chlorinate it.
Until I remembered that I don't have a swimming pool.
After having told everyone about this morning I think I should mention last night. As you all know I am recovering from sinusitis trouble and sometimes this gives me vivid dreams. Also it was Halloween and I celebrated the occasion by listening to suitable music Danse Macabre by Saint-Saens and Liszt's Mephisto Waltz which I have also been practicing on the Piano. I have also been listening to my Chilling Ghost Stories CD read by Andrew Sachs before bedtime . One of the stories on this CD is E F Benson's 'The Room In The Tower' where he describes a 'thing' at the bottom of the bed. Of course I dreamt there was something at the bottom of my bed but I knew it was a nightmare so I tried turning over (whilst making sure that there wasn't anything at the bottom of the bed). Unfortunately I had trouble getting rid of the image and as I needed the toilet I decided to get up and that did help .
