Yeah man, that's some demented Oz stuff there!

Careful, Joe's going to end up on a fed list somewhere!

N, I have developed a new game thanks to your wonderful desert pics. I show them to Kerry while saying; na na nana na and i run. She chases me, I get caught...
Great fun!

Oh geez, I just looked up...i just have refilled the wrong coffee cup!

I do this stuff all the time now....forgetfulness, it's not just a dream, it's a lifestyle!

It could be a lot different. We got word last night that Kerry's cousin Tim has stage 4 liver cancer that has already spread to his lymph system. He will be lucky if he sees Christmas and he's only 61. So terrible to have to make those decisions. He's elected to begin chemo but I suspect he will gain acceptance and stop treatment.
Kerry and I talked about it. If rather 6 mos of "fun and hijinks at the Nook" than a year of dashed hopes & hospitals. We seem to agree on that. So say a short prayer for Tim.

Beautiful out this morning...really nice. Going up to shower and drive to Marks side of the Bay to go see Dr Chiro.

Enjoy the day guys!
I will send 🤗🙏 for Tim and 😘. I'll hope he gets to enjoy his time left. It could stretch on because of that. How much you wanta bet Joe will sell that painting 😁who can resist a Red headed Dorothy toting a shot gun?😜. Looks like my sister 😉Even the dog that looks like Mr Fre is hiding his eyes.😁

Just one question:
Is anyone else having slow operation of TFO? I just Posted above and had to look at the blinking bars for 60 sec. Plus.. I'm on several other forums and have not experienced the same operation there.
Same happens occasionally when I try to hit an emoji in remarks to a post...it take a while for the forum to think....I guess
I've had the same experience but I get TFO through emails so I didn't think much about it. Eventually it straightens up then doesn't freeze up anymore.

Dear Jeff,

I'm sorry to hear about Kerry's cousin but I you and Kerry are okay. I hope he's as comfortable as he can be as well.

So sorry for Tim, 61 is no age at all these days. I hope the time he has left is pain free and he is as comfortable as possible.

Good afternoon/evening all.
I've had a lovely day helping my nephew look after his 2 young children with another 2 of their young cousins. His wife was at the funeral of a family member but he opted to child mind for the day. As they ranged from 10 months to 7 year he needed another pair of eyes and hands - aka me!
We went to an adventure farm, which had lots of different play activities. They had a mixture of farm animals to feed and small animals that they could pet. I wasn't very impressed with the way they were keeping 3 torts - a mixture of Greek and hermanns with 2 in one small enclosure, showing signs of bullying. None of them had water and only the dried remains of old weeds. The girl on duty heard me talking about them and moved them into a much larger pen but with fake grass no heat and still no water or food. I had a chat with her told her about TFO and the Tortoise Table. I showed her pictures of Lola in his soak and stressed they needed access to fresh water and food, but she basically said the owner knew about all that.☹️. She told me they were rescue torts and had a better life now, but still fell far short of what I'd call good care. Shd did take one off for a soak after I spoke to her to but, I may email them with the right links and how they could improve their lives further. I felt really sad for them.
Apart from that, the kids had a great day. It was lovely to spend time with them, but they were all very active. They'll sleep well tonight and so will I!😄
I hope you've all had a good day too.

Cool to spend time with kids. Their perspectives are fascinating! They are tough to keep up with though, aren't they? When you or I do something, we probably do the same thing since we are fairly close in age....we go do whatever it is and then we rest, reflecting on the fun we had hopefully. When we're kids though, it's always on to the next thing, no waiting or reflecting other than the banter on the way to the next thing! It's perfect though because at that point in our lives we need all the life-experience we can get!

Good on you for giving away some knowledge.....I try not to think of how bad "turtles and torts are the same and both like hot and dry" thinking is entrenched around the entire globe.......this is gonna take some time and effort by folks like all of us!

So guys, I found the cause for the "spongy ground" in my back yard. I took a shovel to it....and it turned out to be a hidden debris pile from my tree cutters last week. No wonder my back yard looked so well after they felled a 60' White Oak, they buried the evidence! LOL it wasn't that much and they had four of those "stashes" under the grass. They will settle over time so I piled a bit of dirt on top recovered from building the water garden a couple of weeks ago. It all works out! This wasn't a bad outcome. A bad outcome would have included my septic field draining out of the hill and running down to the stream which meets the creek at the point of our back yard. The creek is tidal(connects to the Bay, then the ocean) so a little tree debris is a relief!

Comic reference'
We have a full-glass storm door on the front of the house. We have a lot of folks who take walks here.
Yesterday, I playfully held Kerry in my arms in full view as she stood facing the lawn, my arms snugly wrapped around her....then I saw someone looking at us as they walked down the street.

I quickly dove down to the left out of sight and pushed Kerry out of view to the right!

it's almost 5am and I'm still laughing

Ms Cathie.....I know "ohio" is middle earth but google... "Coldplay CEO" and me pushing Kerry will make sense. Otherwise I would be risking a punch in the face! LOL

That ought to get you caught up! LOL

I got a test from Ray.....sounds like they are headed home soon. No spider bites either so far!

Kerry left for Trivia night with the girls so I'm bored. I have a new 12" tall coil of "surround" for Matt's enclosure so I can open the water garden to him but I have someone coming tomorrow so I'll wait till they are done. Some of you purists will hate me but I broke down and hired a lawncare service. I spoke to one of my neighbors with a phenomenal lawn and he told me who did it for him and for how much. It was only a few dollars more than I pay for products alone. We will see how it goes.

Enjoy the evening guys

I remember when I thought that Cathie lived in Lancaster UK.

You aren't the only one N....so did I! Lol

Let's see; I had two of 3 sisters have red hair, my mom and grandmom had red hair too, so did grandpa....

& I end up with 2 red haired daughters.

Ya know, they are just a bit different!
We used to watch the head on the youngest spin around 360 degrees when she had a tantrum.

Yes, the weather is going haywire. Global warming it making things more difficult/ dangerous for folks living day to day. East coast of US has heat warnings, Flash Floods, etc. Here in the SF Bay area June/July has been the coolest in 4 decades . . .kinda hard on the summer garden, but much more comfortable...

We have been given a orange warning of extreme heat. The criteria is daily maximum temperature +30 to 35 degrees Celsius (85 F to 95 F) and average temperature +24 to 28 degrees Celsius (75.2 F to 82.4 F).
We have a forest fire warning too, though ours are nothing like in the US!

That's unbelievable for Finland! We've really messed this world up haven't we?😢

Good afternoon/morning all. It's a cloudy day and looks as if it's threatening to rain, but very warm so maybe a thunderstorm is on the way although not in the forecast.

My caterpillars have all left the tree and headed for the soil where they will pupate. I found one of them on the grass this morning and thought he had fallen so I carefully put him back, then I noticed that others were crawling down the trunk or just dropping out of the tree and heading to the long grass and weedy bits of Lola's area, so I put him back on the grass so he could follow his mates. Apparently they aren't due to do
this for another few weeks so they are starting early. I hope they all survive. 🤞🙏 - I've grown quite attached to them.

Otherwise a quiet day apart from what I think was a scam doorstep caller who wanted to see my phone to check its internet speed - not on your nelly! I've contacted BT to report it.
You can't be too careful these days.
