I try to cook Malaysian curries sometimes.

Natrah

PS: Although I can't show Donald around myself I think he is enjoying all his banquets and his trip to Windsor Castle.
I was wondering if you got to see him at Windsor Castle while I was watching the news today. A News channel I watch showed the whole concert and fly over. And kept their mouth shut for once so I got to actually just enjoy it. After they showed the people of the UK that were there to watch also. Yes it looked like he was enjoying it even if he was a bit windblown.😊

I've been wanting to learn how to cook plantains for about 25 years. I finally learned a little from Joe's stna from Ghana Africa. I keep bugging them for African food recipes. Come to find out they like a tomato sauce stew with plantain cooked in it.😁 I'm pretty sure Rose would know how to too. I finally got to taste one of their stews (sauce ) today with plantain cooked in it. It was so good!!!!!!?? so how do I do that! It would be good on rice or spaghetti. I feel like I'm finally getting somewhere.🤞🤞🐢🐢🐢
I will ask Rose if she is familiar with that dish.

Dear Lyn,

There will be some rain in Cardiff tomorrow and according to the BBC you've had a record amount of rainfall for September so don't know this.

Natrah
I'm not surprised Natrah.
We've had plenty of rain this month, but the reservoirs are still low, so as fed up as many people are with it, we need it.

Dear Cathie,

Unfortunately I couldn't get down to Windsor but I understand they are talking politics at the Prime minister's country residence today before the president goes home. One Malaysian dish you should try is chicken or fish fried in turmeric it is lovely alongwith chicken or turkey roasted in turmeric.

We had a lot of rain last month but not enough. The grass is brown and dormant. The only plants doing well are weeds.😁 We're supposed to get some this weekend. It won't be enough though to warrant mowing. My other brother usually mows so he'll be just weed eating even after the rain.

Dear Lyn,

I had an interesting chat with the new neighbour today who is fed up with the noisy neighbours. He said that he told the landlords that if he's not given a date for them to move out in October then he will contact the council and possibly the police. He also said that he has interview for another job as a probation officer and that if he gets it he's going to come back wearing his probation officer lanyard! I told him that there was an interesting looking letter from the council to the neighbours the other day which referred to them as the residents of... I said this could be the result of the neighbours in the adjoining road issuing their complaint.

We got over an inch of rain in one day in RVA and my yard had been so dry I got no water in the basement. My trees got to it first
First our trees got so much rain that they got powdery mildew and now it's so dry that all that should die maybe 🤔 hopefully. t's been a crazy summer.

Good afternoon everyone,

I hope the man that I saw at the bus stop yesterday is okay. When I approached the stop I noticed an elderly gentleman clinging to the poll and then I noticed he was starting to fall so I grabbed him and said to the other lady at the bus stop "he's collapsing". Anyway we got him to the ground and on his side before I said that he needed an ambulance. I could've used my phone but because 999 may ask for a postcode I decided to ask a nearby shopkeeper to phone for an ambulance.

I went back to the bus stop and by this time a small crowd had gathered and we were all talking to the poor man and lady who seemed to know first aid started giving advice. I went back to the shop to check on the ambulance which was on it's way and found a first responder already there. My bus started arriving so I left knowing he was in good hands but it brought back memories of mum and especially dad as they were both called Jim (dad's nickname). I can only assume that the gentleman could have been affected by the warm weather or some ailments but either way his lips were blue and he felt cold to the touch.

Oh dear, sounds like a heart problem. I do hope he's ok. Do you have any way of finding out? Maybe the shopkeeper will have some news if you are out that way again.
Good job you were there to help him to the ground so that he didn't fall bhard and cause more injury.

Dear Lyn,

Yes I'd like to try and ask that shopkeeper when I'm there again.

We get older and we die...kinda how it goes but it's always disconcerting when someone passes in public. It reminds us that we really don't have a heck of a lot of time here.

Today's gripe;
I'm just more than a little upset and angry that I did all the right stuff to save my "jetpack money" to have it on hand when we got the jetpacks they promised us in the 60's, only to get here in 2025 money in hand....and there are no jetpacks! A close friend of mine just spent $174,000 on a car imported from Italy. I told him that he must have used his "jetpack money". LOL My buddy is my age and puts ALL his money into cars, it's his thing. I don't think I've ever even ridden in a 174K car! LOL

Kerry and I took the motorized kayaks out this morning and it was 62F...a bit cool but it warmed up over the next couple of hours. Our water is brackish, a mix of salt water from the bay and fresh river water. All the turtles we have in the creek are red ears or yellow belly's. No terrapins yet. I haven't seen the one that I transplanted here over the summer.

We still have hummingbirds coming in. The geese we saw a couple weeks ago in Maine are starting to arrive, the large grasses and ferns growing in the knoll are receding as Fall rolls in. Here it comes guys, Fall is on it's way!

I forgot to show you guys what Kerry came home from the store with yesterday...2 bucks at Acme which translates to " no one else bought them"! We all know what legit Oreos go for....for our friends across the pond....4-5Euro's for a same size box.

We had friends over for dinner and i was "out on the deck" burning a couple and Kerry gave me a nice cup of coffee and these. They have a layer of cinnamon added...they were "The best thing I'd ever had with coffee". Of courseci was high so there's that...all in fun..
Who knew they made these?
