Thankyou Jeff.

I'm slightly clearer today although I wouldn't mind some of Cathie's soup. Hope Lyn is okay.

Natrah

PS: This is what happens when you teach pupils with coughs
Teachers are exposed to every germ from every house! Glad you are doing better N....ill bet MS Cathie makes some kickbutt homemade soup too!

Today is "try to fix the cooktop" day!
20251024_122322.jpg
it coincidentally failed EXACTLY when I turned the gas back on a couple days ago. The igniters for all burners run continuously..click click click click.....sparking nonstop. The little dirty white device has been deemed the culprit after the 20 minutes of "hmm, wonder what's wrong...theres no loose wires" part of the process. LOL
18 bucks delivered....after shopping. Amazon wanted 37...

Mine was spending 6 hours removing my 109" (2768 mm) Vertical Blinds, Gently removing the slats (DO NOT WANT TO BREAK THE CLIPS, Obsolete), documenting the assembly and disassembly, taking all the carriers washing in gasoline to break down the aluminum oxides, blowing them off w/compressed air, washing them in detergent to remove any vapors, blowing off again, then reassembling it with a new cord. I know . . .a lot of time involved.
I would have gladly bought a new one, but this is now illegal (you cant buy them with Cords and chains anymore, Dang kids choking them selves) They ONLY come with wands. I have it in my front room with 3 large bird cages between me and the blinds. Would be a PITA to have to move cages every Night and every morning to open ad close them. I never realized how something so simple could be so complex....

Thank you MS Cathie. The plastic stuff wouldn't fit in here. The guys should finish tomorrow. Today was ceiling day.

They installed the roughin for a light.

LMAO, come visit Ray...we live in the country...there are no restaurants so you are safe....but in spite of my vice of choice I retain a great memory for debt! I may visit you again some day!
Love the ceiling, I should have looked at these pictures. Before we talked on the phone earlier.

Good afternoon everyone!

Feeling better today and hoping that Lyn is okay. Having Heinz Chicken Noodle soup helps although it is probably nothing like Cathie's. Gosh you're busy Jeff and it's looking good. Is it a lot colder in the US now? It certainly is here and what about Finland Edward?

We woke to 39F this morning but it's into the 50's now so it's not too terrible. Our gutter guy finished this morning. All the guys did a great job. We are fortunate that we hired them. We wanted 3 things
1. Open panels so we can see
2.Knockout panel so i can install a tub
3.Make it so closing it in at a later time would be easy.

The panels are 8 ft tall and 7.5 ft wide...you are looking through the screens at the single wisteria pole and 1 hammock pole. Not sure what we are doing with them yet.

We are thrilled with the work and we went out to hook each of them up lastnight before they left. They were so proud of their work and i was happy as i watched them beam with pride. Pretty cool stuff!

Dear Jeff,

I'm not surprised you are thrilled you should be very proud of yourselves. You have your dream home and I hope you are celebrating. Ray I hope you're okay because I have been hearing about a possible Hurricane Melissa

Thank you N....its nice how well life goes when i don't fight it every step of the way! We are very thankful for all that they did with no one forcing them to.

We are praying for Tammy in Jamaica tonight...they could well be pummeled and she doesn't live in a concrete building. We have a direct line setup to the Big guy( I can yell very loudly)....he's given me his assurances to my special request!

Ray kept me up late last night. Neither of us has any concept if time so I think it was around 11pm when we finally hung up but i did sleep to 530 this morning so that was cool.

Heinz Chicken Noodle is probably just as good as mine. I think Campbell's is too if I'm the sick one. Whatever chicken soup I don't have to cook then tastes good. It's been really cold at night and even frosted the last 2 days. Then it warms up to the 50's and higher. So it is a lot colder but it's really comfortable weather with a light jacket maybe. Fall here where I live is probably my favorite time of year.

Like you Jeff, around 4:30am and still hadn't fallen asleep. So I took a tour around the neighborhood for awhile.

Good afternoon everyone and especially @TammyJ (I hope I've got the right one in Jamaica)

I hope our friends over the pond are okay as I hear that the hurricane has been upgraded to category 5!

Natrah
Yes thank you for mentioning me here in this thread 😊.
I honestly don't know which is going to be worse: the actual Category 5 hurricane chain sawing through us at 3 mph, for 2 days, or the stark, apocalyptic aftermath time known as "After Melissa".
