I have seen on TV where they are very desirable to restore.
I saw on the news today that a second typhoon hit the Philippines. I didn't see a thing until today. Hopefully it ends up being not as bad as the last one with the loss of lives. It sure was flooding though.

I just read your "dough" responses to Kerry. We think not enough heat, not enough beating! Thanks guys.

Ray, are the raccoons gone? Still quite?

I put up the last shade on the porch today. It was breezy and chilly at 48F today yet we were 60f inside.

We hope to be able to open the 2 large panels and stay warmy if the air is quiet while having morning coffee while the zoo marches by. Lol

I spent dozens of manhours researching perspective hot tubs and various manufacturers and have arrived at a simple conclusion that it's an ugly industry. The average Harry Homeowner won't have a clue and will rely on an ad or a salesperson that they only just met and typically has the goal of getting what they can get from you...but they will be incredibly nice. LOL
Yup...ugly but alas I have selected 1 and will wait to see what sales happen over the next 2 weeks. That was a chore and not fun like it should have been. AI was not helpful at all fwiw.

That looks so cozy and what a wonderful spot to have morning coffee. Lunch, dinner and I'd have to spend my days there. It would be hard to get me to move.😁

Thanks MS Cathie...we met a couple girls who live about 150 yds away on the creek, just out of site because of the trees. They are also having a porch built so we went to go see their progress...and it's coming along very nicely.
Oh...as a public service announcement;
Those little gas fireplaces like on our porch use about $3 per hour of use, on low. Turn it up and a 20lb tank will be gone inside of 4hours.

I am considering running permanent gas piping to it but maybe i should install a timer with it? So we don't forget and burn through our 500 gallon main tank! 😆

We are supposed to get snow today, but I am not too optimistic. The weeds outside are frozen to a crisp, and even if they do thaw out again, I fear they will be mushy. I think there will be no more fresh weeds for Edward this year.

October was unusually warm here in Finland, it was 1–3.5 degrees Celsius (1.8–6.3°F) warmer than the average for the reference period 1991–2020 across the country. The first snowfall in the country was measured on October 16 in the village center of Kilpisjärvi in Enontekiö; the first snow fell more than two weeks later than usual. I live more in the south, and haven't had a bit of snow.

Today the sun rose at 8 am and will set at 4 pm. This week we seem to be stuck in a limbo with the weather, as we are expecting a high of 9 C (48,2 F) and a low of -3 C (26,6 F).

They day will get even shorter, I think our shortest day this year will be 21.12. And yes, seasonal depression is really common. Also, we have to get our vitamin D from supplements for a part of the year.

Jeff's new car!
No, not Jeff's. Im not partial to Fiats even if they look nice. Too many problems. I have a small roadster with 193000 miles and has never broken, ever but it sure isn't a Fiat. LOL

I have a question. We have lots of trees and thusly, leaves. How come when the wind blows, the leaves don't all end up over there or over here? You know...in one place? Lol

Only explanation is . . . . it's a conspiracy of nature. (making YOU get out in it)

You might find this curious, but today is what we call "the national jealosy day" when medias publish these income tax lists. These lists will include the top 150 names for example, with their earned income, capital income, taxes paid, tax rate and province. Not only are the lists published, but a part of the "tradition" is that all the medias are publishing dozens of articles of these people with the most income last year. And people absolutely follow this all.

We do but haven't since mid Oct. It got cool out!

Leaving for a funeral in VA tomorrow. I was going to pass but I really should be there for Kerry on this one. At least I don't have to do the 14 gatherings over 4 days. Their family.. it's nuts. I signed on for 1 wake and 1 funeral service....and maybe the reception afterward. Scrooge right? I just hate funerals but it's not about me...God thats a tough concept. LOL

I'd rather not do funerals, I won't be at mine . . . JK . . . .
I consider it an honor to attend. I only hang with folks i really like, and if they were to pass, I would want their spirit to know, that no matter how terribly sad I would be . . .I WOULD BE THERE for their family....

One good excuse not to do anything about them is they are good for the soil. I say mulch them if possible with a lawn mower.😊
