It's 2026! The fireworks are spectacular!Selamat Tahun Baru 2026!

I've had guests for the past few days 
. Willow has been here with them. She's Mr Fre's best doggie girl friend. She always manages to steal at least one toy when she goes home though 
well today she tried her best to get my favorite toy. Oh my god. It was hilarious. I knew darn well she was going to try. I even told them your dog is going to try and steal my fish ball. So they put her in her little carrier to go home and swore up and down there was no way she had it. I couldn't find it so we did a search of her blanket and the whole thing. Took her out 
and lo and behold the fish ball fell out of her mouth. Dogs are crazy

Well we're almost an hour into 2026 here in the UK and it's time for me to hit the hay now so I'd like to wish everyone here a very Happy and healthy New Year and everything you wish yourselves for the year ahead.
I know friends in the US are at least 5 hours behind us so enjoy your celebration when it arrives.

I saw a rare sight the other day!

We don't see Sinclair stations anymore.
So my tub saga is stuck here for now;
I was disappointed when the driver showed up alone and called and end to the festivities at this point. Better to stop and rethink rather then installing the tub at the bottom of the hill!

The weather here has been more normal, -17 c (1.4 F) and about 15 cm of snow (5,9 inches).

I reached out to Spa Slingers, a firm suggested by the internet at 1030 this morning. I also reached out to 2 local movers. The spa guys reacted first and will be here weds for about the same cost as the taxes i bragged about saving! Don't we love the lessons life slams us in the face with? There's always a way to overcome.
This one was just easier to pay someone else to get it done.

Didn't use my new grill today. To cold outside.
I shouldn't use that as a excuse. When I lived in Michigan. I would grill outside with no coat and in my barefeet.

I have come to realize it's not the last 50 cents for a gallon of gas that breaks me. It's the first 2 dollars.
Come on Ray....i used my grill yesterday and it was 25F! LOL
So we went over to friends for New Years Eve. Do you all know Cellular One guy with the orange sweater that makes him look like a college cheerleader?

Here's some good stuff. We have a kid Drew in the neighborhood. He is mid 20's and walks dogs for folks and he has a severely challenged sister who insists on hugging anyone she sees. Nice folks but both on the spectrum somewhere. So yesterday we had coffee time with Julie & Deb down the street who bought a home on the water and we met while in our kyacks last summer. They have a beautiful home and like us, they hired someone to build a screened porch. So while we are talking we learn that Drew isnt a dude....or was and won't be...wth? Apparently she was born a girl, trans'ed to boy and now going back to girl. Gee the things we learn about our neighbors!
Good times though...
Tomorrow I will be retired 2 yrs. I can say without any doubt at all that my decision was brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! Just a shame it took 65 yrs to get there. Ok but i retired 3 weeks after i turned 66 so i still count it as retiring at 65. It just seems better! LOL
