Yup freezing here too. No sooner do I break the ice on the bird bath, it freezes over again. Stay warm and avoid the icey pavements.

It is the perfect temp to defrost our freezer the way it is usually done here, by putting all the food outside.
We're going to go back in the 60 ish next week. It's a roller coasterWe will be back to 80°f by Tues.

We have quite a blanket of snow at the moment and it's still falling quite heavily. Hopefully it won't hang around too long.
I had some unexpected visitors after midnight. There was a loud knocking on my door and all my could see through the frosted glass was the outline of two men. I thought it was the police raiding the wrong house again. ,
Turns out it was my 2 brothers in law and also 2 sisters. They' and other family members had been trying to ring me for hours and when I didn't answer they thought something had happened to me. I was oblivious to it all. When I checked my phone the ring tone was switched off so I couldn't hear it. I don't know how that happened but it's back on now and I've also connected a landline phone so I should at least hear that.
I felt quite embarrassed to make them so worried as they'had to make a 20 mile round trip - good to know they care though. I'll take them out for a meal soon.
All that excitement before bed, but time try to sleep.

Embarrassing . . .ya it could be. BUT . . I would focus on the aspect that they were concerned enough, to take a drive to be 100% certain that you were indeed safe. Since I'm getting older, and have emphysema, My Brother and sister in-law, and a local friend touch base with me frequently to verify I'm OK. They both have keys to my home and the security code to gain access. My own Matt was being eaten alive by a rat. He was chewing open Matt's shell from front to back. He got in about 3/4"....and he was bloody when i found him. The temps were 70's or 80's. Mags helped by suggesting Stardust or Fairydust....for horse injuries...& it worked magic.

Oh yes I certainly do appreciate them for checking on me. Accidents and illness happen to the best of us. One b -n- law is a doctor and he came in case I needed resuscitation.
I'll be checking my phone settings regularly now though.
That makes sense about happening when the tort is hibernating.
