Green was my brother from another mother till he vanished. A really nice guy. I don't know why he dropped off. Sometimes folks have the need to tell their story. Maybe that's what he needed, to tell us the story of him building the house?
I hink he was heading off to university so maybe he's been busy studying .

We have quite a blanket of snow at the moment and it's still falling quite heavily. Hopefully it won't hang around too long.

I had some unexpected visitors after midnight. There was a loud knocking on my door and all my could see through the frosted glass was the outline of two men. I thought it was the police raiding the wrong house again. ,πŸ™„
Turns out it was my 2 brothers in law and also 2 sisters. They' and other family members had been trying to ring me for hours and when I didn't answer they thought something had happened to me. I was oblivious to it all. When I checked my phone the ring tone was switched off so I couldn't hear it. I don't know how that happened but it's back on now and I've also connected a landline phone so I should at least hear that.
I felt quite embarrassed to make them so worried as they'had to make a 20 mile round trip - good to know they care though. I'll take them out for a meal soon.
All that excitement before bed, but time try to sleep.

(Twelfth night tomorrow so time to put the trees and decorations away for another year.)

Embarrassing . . .ya it could be. BUT . . I would focus on the aspect that they were concerned enough, to take a drive to be 100% certain that you were indeed safe. Since I'm getting older, and have emphysema, My Brother and sister in-law, and a local friend touch base with me frequently to verify I'm OK. They both have keys to my home and the security code to gain access. It' not just important for me, after just several hours I could be dead . . .BUT my kids could still be locked in the house, so it is also to help them too.

Oh yes I certainly do appreciate them for checking on me. Accidents and illness happen to the best of us. One b -n- law is a doctor and he came in case I needed resuscitation.
I'll be checking my phone settings regularly now though.

It usually happens to torts hibernating outside. I remember reading about a tortoise left out to overwinter in a garden who lost both back legs to rats. The owners found someone to make a frame with wheels, so that he could still get about.
Leopards don't hibernate so it's possible Lola either had a nasty accident or hatched with a foot missing.
That makes sense about happening when the tort is hibernating.

It's so nice to know they cared about you and checked on you. What a wonderful evening even though it was probably hectic! 😊 You shouldn't feel embarrassed stuff happens.πŸ₯°
