Have you tried making snow where you throw or spray water and it falls as snow?

no we did not. I don't think it was cold enough. I dunno...does it work at 14F?

It's 31F now at 4AM....A warmer day today? Maybe I'll pull Kerry's car out from under the canopy and try to get some weight off the metal framed canopy. It's producing some very high notes when I tink it!. I pushed up in 1 section yesterday and the entire 20 foot structure began to twist. In structural terms ...we call that "buckling". I stopped and said a prayer. That's when pulling the car out first made more sense. LOL

Don't even ask me what Matt is doing..i snapped this while he's sleeping.....his water bowl is supposed to be in the corner opposite his humid/temp meter. Oh and it WAS full of water. He has dug up the box flaps and has 1 laying on top of his water bowl, then he decided to climb on that perch and call it a night!

I think he's unhappy. He usually trashes his home if he gets bored so i have to change it up for him. LOL

I had a bit of a scare with Lola yesterday. When I got up I could smell something strange but nothing I recognised. After searching I concluded that it must be from outside. However I later noticed the temp in Lola's hide had dropped so I checked his heat source (Habistat reptile radiator) and it had scorch marks on the underside so I realised the smell was from the plastic casing.

When i opened it up I could see that what is basically a heat mat inside the casing had burnt out. So poor Lola was exposed to the smell from that. In fairness it has been good and used 24/7 for about 6 years but I didn't expect that to happen. So a good reminder to keep an eye on it. I had a spare here so still using the same thing, but I will look at other heating panels.

I use an on/off thermostat with the panel but I've been reading that pulse models are better. Does anyone use one of those?

A word on "anxiety".
The word that has destroyed more lives than war in my lifetime.

This isn't an argument nor am I trivializing anyone's issues.

Maybe I'm wrong but to me anxiety is simply unfocused nervous energy.
Everyone learns as a child how to focus it into a form we can use as an assist so it's not a roadblock. Some don't...they suffer emotional damage when faced with stressful situations. They freeze in times of peril unable to move, frozen by the very fear they actively avoided.

Courage my fiends is simply using those same fears to give you the energy boost you may need. Courage isn't the absence of fear despite all the movies showing you something else. Courage....is being scared to death like everyone else but being able to focus on what needs to be done, not on what may happen.

Standing in front of the class to read was for me life changing and i thank my teachers everyday for that. It teaches a child so many emotions and feelings.....today it doesn't seem as important to help someone push through fear ...they just want a pill or the kid isn't required to read in front of the class because they have "anxiety".

That faith in the young folks sure gets tested!

That's actually what my favorite video of the song Anxiety shows. It's just a fun song anyway because it's the same melody of another hit song from years ago. So it had tongues wagging on the hit parade A way to make anxiety fun to laugh at. And it's so true.

Hi Natrah,
I'm a bit fed up of this heavy rain now but it's staying all night and most of tomorrow.
I've just had a flood alert sent by text
from our environment agency - the river was pretty high yesterday so I hope it doesn't breach the banks.
We had a similar wet winter last year. So I hope it doesn't mean we're going to have a dry spring and summer again.
It must be lovely having quiet neighbours now - long may it last!

That's very cold MS Cathie....wow. We really haven't seen it dip below 10F here.

We saw a red fox yesterday morning trotting through the yard on his rounds. He checked both spots that I sometimes leave food for him and Rocky raccoon before disappearing into the woods.
Kerry made Cabbage rolls last week....like Spring Rolls but different. Not a hit with me.....i put the last 3 out for them last night.

A little scare yesterday evening. My blood pressure tanked. Not sure why but i was close to climbing into the car to go to the hospital. It was 93/63 then dipped again to 88/54. Let me tell you....it feels GOOD as you begin to "turn off". Calm, comfortable, peaceful and the dizziness is intoxicating but not my time yet, at least i hope not. Kerry is a good wife so she pissed me off on purpose and my BP shot right back up to 123/72. Thanks baby....I think. LOL

I did pull all that ice off her canopy...and i paid dearly as it was very tiring for me working above my head with a garden hoe. I would chop off a section then pull it off....over and over. Twice, the tool came out of the handle and i had to recapture it and thump it back onto the handle. Good times but it sucked the life force from me!
Afterwards i watched a video of one of the more mundane hikes at Glacier NP and I realized that I'm old and weak. I don't want to be relegated to spending my time at these parks with the "old people" who can't leave the boardwalked areas! Superman can do better. Not sure how that's going to happen of how it's going to look but I'm not a big fan of losing.

Here's the deal:
Removing that ice took the same level of effort that hiking a LEVEL 1/4 path at 12,000feet. Inogen anyone? LOL

That's as badasas me out shoveling snow by several inches at a time with a shovel I couldn't hardly lift last Sunday I couldn't stand one more moment of not being able to go shopping

Well, we will be hurting come summertime, when the snow pack that we rely on for water is NOT there, and the fruit / nut trees provide little in fruit because they didn't get enough Chill hours, below 40°
