Well, over the years there has been a push for "Grain Free Diets for dogs". My Vet, and Woodies Cardiologist both asked what I was feeding then. They Both did NOT like grain free, and the foods high in legumes are considered bad, (connection between dog diets rich in legumes and an increased incidence of canine dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM)).
Since my Dr. was worried about osteoporosis, I have been taking Generic Fozamax (once a week), a calcium, D-3, Glucosamine / Chondroitin , and a multi Vitamin once a day.
And well I of course had to Google. I still felt little Mr Fre needs a few vitamins and looked for what has been causing the "new stone" in dogs eating homemade dog food. This is what I found. 😊Screenshot_20260514-170758.png

My vet actually should have looked at the ingredients. I showed her my bag of Azestfor 😊. She said phase it out. I bought another bag today. Azestfor homemade dog food vitamin mix doesn't have the offender in it.Screenshot_20260514-154105.png

Interesting since I think choline bitartrate is the one preferred for human supplementation.

Yes. Cream of tartar helps make stiff peaks in egg whites for meringue. Same thing different names and it has others. I'm still looking at the whole thing on Google. It's in a lot of high end commercial dog foods also. I will be thanking my vet for warning me about the new stone. I'm not sure she's gotten into it deep enough to also know it's in some name brand dog foods though. She was happy about me using those too but advised against Azestfor. Azestfor doesn't have it but my dry food might.🤔😊

Good evening everyone!

I hope @Lyn W and @Ray--Opo are okay as they have been absent for some time. I'm okay here and I saw a Dakota flying over the Thames estuary today.

I am ok thanks for asking. Just taking a little break from my phone. Plus I have been on another forum for the motorcycle I am restoring.
Hope everything is good with you and the rest of the members.

Hi Ray, Opo, It's good to hear from you, and that things are going well enough to work on a MC.
BTW, can I ask what you are working on?
