Our temps are going to reach almost 90f tomorrow and over 100f by Thursday. It's going to be an uncomfortable week day and night and risky for wildlife.
Natrah will have the same if not higher temps on her side of the UK. Stay safe Natrah?

Ugh the heat! We are leaving Florida later today and it has been quite warm here.

We enjoyed the graduation last Friday. A class of 65 Chiropractors, a full one third made Deans list for all 10 trimesters, over HALF graduated Suma or Magna cum laude! This was a class of nerds who truly pushed each other! Pretty neat.

We had a great time and her daughters husband's folks came down from Hamilton Canada for the graduation and we really like them. Very humble folks. We may swing by to see them on our way back home on our Fall trip out West.

I don't think Kerry's ex likes me as much though. I kinda felt bad for him because according to his son, at 67 years old he just got fired or laid off a couple weeks ago. I told Kerry that i was okay with covering our dinners together so it would maybe make it easier for him. So I congratulated him on his daughters achievement and he was polite but withdrawn from the conversation at dinner the first night then was late to the 2nd nights dinner causing us all to stand under cover for 45 minutes in the rain to be seated because they won't seat half a group. The man didn't even apologize to his daughter but blamed her for him being late! Huh? Heck i was on the opposite end of the table and she was standing next to her dad when she said what time to be there....and im half deaf and wasn't wearing hearing aids and i heard her!
I guess that's why i have his wife now? LOL That was mean wasn't it?

We went down to hang out with Ray and his family for the afternoon yesterday. I love seeing the big torts at Ray's. He has an upgraded fence between them this year. It looks great. Ms sully is still a bit of a bit*h to me but Kerry made Opo happy with some treats.

We drove North as far as we could after a quick stop in Orlando to fill our freezer with meat from Wild Fork. Did i mention that i love this 12 volt cooler-freezer? Lol

Today we drive about 500 miles to Birmingham Al. Road-day! LOL

Enjoy the day guys!

Good morning everyone!

I'm sorry to hear about your brother Marsha I have two younger brothers but I hear more from my nephews than I do from them. Long story but I cared for dad with Alzheimer's and they showed more interest in their inheritance rather than the caring. Like both you and Lyn I miss both mum and dad but dad passed away on the 12th June 2019 four days before Father's Day and there are certain places I prefer to avoid on both Mother's Day and Father's Day.

I'm okay here at the moment but am prepared for the coming heatwave so I hope Lyn and Angie are okay. Looks like we could have a new Prime minister.

Natrah

PS: I have amazing friends a lot of whom understand what it's like when you live on your own on days like this and also Jacky and not forgetting Daisy (1942 - 2022)

People get "funny" when it comes to money. I think the human part of human beings is lost around money. I told my folks long before they passed that I didn't want anything when they did pass. I got a tool or two from my dad...but my siblings split up the money. I am not close with any of them either. The money WAS important to them too.
Aw well, we don't control the actions of others do we?

On to better stuff. We had breakfast with old friends of Kerry's at The Villages in Fla yesterday before making it here to Leeds Alabama about 500 miles further.. Beautiful part of the country here but the roads around Atlanta are busy....we faced 75-100 miles of "Slow" coming to, then leaving the greater Atlanta area. Wow. We won't try that again at 4pm! LOL

Today we get to go to see arguably the largest collection of vintage motorcycles
at Barbers vintage museum a mile from our hotel. They open at 10 so we can have a nice breakfast and take our time getting ready. We will find a hotel in Nashville for tomorrow then mosey on over.

I did notice that people living on the water here...rivers and lakes...they play on the water in their boats instead of buying them to show their friends but never leave the dock. Unlike their Floridian neighbors, they are more like me....To hell with the gators, I swore i overheard "Cletus, hold my beer and watch this sh*t"!

Good morning all.
The heat is ramping up and causing chaos in the UK. Some train lines have closed because the heating is affecting the tracks. Schools and even some work places are closing because they don't have the ability to cool the buildings.
It amazes me that even though extreme temps are becoming a norm here, there are still many business and public places that still aren't investing in a/c.
I'm managing to keep cool with my electric fans and staying indoors. If I do need the shops it will be a late trip after dark when I just might spend the night in a freezer!.😄
Lola is loving it but even he came in when it got too hot yesterday - sensible tort! 🐢

Here, where I am , the weather has been cooler than in the past 20 years. We're having a slow start to summer for the first time in many years. The nights in the 50's f and 60's. The days only getting up into the 80's f at most. It gets warmer in Sapphire's enclosure during the day because it's in full sun though. I still have to carry him in and out depending on the weather. He looks so good. He's getting his tan anyway.😊

We should be cooler from Friday with the temps dropping overnight by about 17°F. Then back to the normalish 60 - low 80s range...... can't wait!

The heat wave might arrive here in Finland on Sunday or Monday, but it is probably way milder by then and might only hit the south.

Currently it has been a bit too cold for Edward to go out with a high of 18 C (64,4 F) and a low of 10 C (50 F), and the cloudy weather paired with some rain there isn't much sunbathing to do in his outdoor enclosure.

The weather in Alabama and Tennessee is spectacular right now. 80 and beautiful yesterday in Birmingham and it stayed with us up to Nashville where we are staying for a couple nights.

I got a call from my neighbor yesterday and when i saw his name i got nervous that something was wrong at home. He called just to tell me that my yard robots are working correctly. LOL He is quite enamored with them. I do really appreciate that we have such great neighbors though.

Anyone remember this car? It's the original Beatles Bentley! The Barber museum was amazing. I was so overwhelmed by seeing nearly every bike i own and USED to own that i teared up at first. It hit hard....and took about an hour before my head stopped spinning in circles to see everything. Wow, just wow!

This is the nicest race track I have ever laid eyes on!

Immaculate grounds, landscaping between track sections for a park walk....complete with waterfalls and turtles on the rock below!

I was sending texts to the Restorers that I know to see if they needed info or particular pics. This was a cool thing to do and the folks working and volunteering (lots of volunteers) were personable and full of knowledge. Talking with those guys was the best part.

So walking out to see the track I spied Georgina hanging from a bridge (I had to ask her name). She fell during a race last year and was run over by 1 or more Porsches according to the story we heard. She now hangs over the guardrail instead of the tarmac!

The place was filled with this type of unexpected art. Kinda neat.
