Did the vet give Sonny any shots or anything?

Hi guys, Sonny doesn’t seem to be doing very well. The vet gave us some repto boost for his baths but he isn’t eating and drinking and seems to always have his eyes shut and head low unless we move him.

Do you think he could just be drained from what happened at the vets? Anything I can do?
I'm sorry he doesn't seem well, but he has had a very stressful - and painful - time , and is probably exhausted still. I would think keeping him really warm and giving the reptoboost soaks is probably all you can do for now. Tortoises can be very slow to get over things, because their metabolism is slow generally, and just letting him rest may help. he is also very young, and needs a lot of sleep anyway.
Good luck
Angie

Thank you, I was hoping this is what it would be. I will just give him a bit more time and keep an eye on him

Also, tortoises are extremely tough and resilient- don't get despondent

He has eaten a dandelion leaf over the past 24 hours which is good considering how small he is. I still can’t see any droppings and he is always in his bed and very lethargic.

It takes several days for food to pass through a tortoises gut, so that need not be a problem. Give him time.If he will eat some more dandelion, that is a good fibrous food.

Hi, thanks for asking. We had him to a vet today who has managed to remove it. He had an x ray to make sure there is nothing else inside and he is back at home 😊 they said it could be a calcium build up with not enough hydration so will need to work on that.
Hi ensure you use a high sided container ( dedicated wasking up bowls) for soaks around 30 mins in warm shallow water. Switch to clean water bowl when water cool or dirty. I soak 3 times a week and they drink during the soak. Provide fresh water 24 x7 in a flower pot base dish they walk through snd sit in. If small add a ring of small stones o the substrate edge to help ingress and egress.
