I wouldn't let it creep much higher than the mid 90s, but it doesn't need to be that warm.

There is no set answer for this. No studies have been done. No one really knows what happens in the wild. Anything said here is educated guessing and anecdotal at best.

I know of a very large sulcata breeding compound out in the middle of a very hot desert area. Temps similar to Phoenix. They never let the temp in the baby room go below 80, but the swamp coolers are set to kick on at 96. There are basking bulbs in each enclosure too. During summer temps probably hit 96 in there by 10 or 11am and stay that way until well after dark. The man told me that the most common mistake he sees with baby sulcatas is people letting them get too cool. This makes sense to me, because it does not get cool over in the part of Africa where they come from.

In summertime, I let my baby enclosures drop to 78 overnight and then the ambient temp creeps up into the low 90s each day. At night time it cools down here, and the temps slowly drop back down to 78 overnight.

So theres not really any danger in mine getting 95-96 on cool side?

Not in my experience, but what will it do in a heat wave?

Also, I'm not saying those temps are "optimal". I'm saying that it does not seem to do any harm, and that they "probably" deal with similarly high temps in the wild.
