They had her for about 2 years. And I have no idea who raised Ivy to this size.Clean as a whistle! What a lucky girldo you know how long they actually had her for? I’m wondering whether someone else raised her to this size under better conditions.. I just can’t get over how good she looks after such poor housing!
I would guess it about 4 or 5 years. They had her for about 2 years. And I have no idea who raised Ivy to this size.
What is her approximate age? She looks like big a baby to me....
Thank you!I would guess it about 4 or 5 years.
That's purely a guess. We'll see what other might say.Thank you!![]()
I’d say that’s probably a reasonable estimateI would guess it about 4 or 5 years.
Nice catch. I see it now that I can zoom in. Maybe a gentle scrubbing will clean it up. Provide it's not fungus.I would check these white spots (see photo). Maybe it's just calcium powder or dirt or the very-very beginning of shell fungus.
My guesstimate would be 5-6 years. I see no new growth so, probably, she didn't grow much with her previous owners and all great job at raising her smooth was done by a breeder or previous-previous keeper.
And I'm not joking - I really want to know as much details as possible (where this beauty has come from, room temperatures, diet, substrate and everything else). Maybe there are photos of her tank and old photos of her on "arrival".

So a 26 gallon tank.*100 liters not gallons
Wow, I think who ever raised her for the first few years must’ve been doing a really good job for her shell to be that condition, it’s so sad she had to go through those two years of awful care with the other owners, I’m so happy she has you nowThank you Alex!!!
I hope it's not fungus! But if it is then how will those spots change? Size?
Her diet was not really balanced. It was pretty much greens as I was told. The fish tank was about 100 gallons and the bottom was covered with dog pads. And it was 2 plates there (food and water). The only source of lighting was light from outside through the closed blinds.

If it's soft and chalky, likely it's fungus. These spots will grow in size, numbers and depth. You can get cheap athlete's foot creme and apply over suspicious areas to prevent fungus from growing. Then clean white spots with a soft bristled toothbrush.Thank you Alex!!!

Antifungal creme should be in RF owner's first aid kit anyway.
Thank you, Tammy!!!The antifungal cream won't do any harm anyway.
