Usually around 4/5, it depends a little on other factors like size but around that age. I only know things about mediterranian tortoises and with them the females have a short tale and males have thicker and longer tale that usually bends to the left or right. Males also start flashing every now and then around that age.

I got news for you, that's a female. Male Russian tails are huge.

I've seen his tortoise weenie quite a bit the past few months. We've had another male, testudo graeca graeca, owned by my grandfather since 1925 and past on to my mom and our family in 1985, he died in 2011. I know my male tortoise bits so to speak? I'm 42, I grew up with him and him flashing his bits and humping sneakers.

He has a good size tortoise weenie for a 4 inch tortoise, so he's good at the confidence department??
Haha I hear ya. My tortoise could scratch his head with his if he wants too. So if anybody is self conscious in this house it's me......
