I wash everything when I bring it home from the store and before I put it away in the fridge.

When I chop up the food for the babies, I sprinkle a bit of water over it when I serve it.

Well....if they are hydrated then I don't see the worry.....? When I give food offerings I spray the pile wet...so they are getting the added water....:D

The babies are use to the wet greens and I have peace of mind they are well hydrated....I have also noticed (because I have done water sprayed and not) that they finish their pipe much more readily when it is sprayed than when not....

The advantage of wet greens is that they stick together and picky torts can't pick out the bits they like. I always rinse before serving; they take longer to shrivel that way

I intentionally spray mine with water before feeding. Even for older tortoises.

You could try soaking before eating. Most tortoise will pee in a warm water soak.

I would be happy that they are peeing, so many are worried because they haven't seen it.

I rinse/soak/spray almost everything I feed, including the ground they walk on.
