Forgive me if this has already been addressed in another thread -

I just weighed and measured my young sulcata and ran the formula to see if he was dehydrated, and instead the figures showed that he is a little overweight. I wish I could add a picture here, but he looks a little skinny to me. He is about two years old and moderately pyramided - definite but not grossly deformed - and starting to smooth out.

My question is:
Does pyramiding add extra weight by itself?

Thanks in advance -

No, the Donohue formula should be good as is- however it does not really work as well on very young torts.

HOWEVER- being OVER does not mean OVERWEIGHT- it may just be well-hydrated.

No. A pyramided shell is a bit more porous (when pyramiding is in conjunction with MBD), but it wouldn't make a noticeable weight difference.

Thank you Mark and Yvonne -

Good to have some expert advice! I'll go with the well-hydrated. I did check the other way, too - his feet and head can still tuck all the way in lol.
