I am desperate here. My turtle, Junie Moon, has not eaten in over seven days. I have taken her to the vet who determined there was no infection, and she was not going into hibernation, and she was not egg bound. The vet dewormed, treated for parasites. That was last Thursday and there has been no change in her condition.

Details. She is served a diverse selection of foods. They are rotated regularly. Wet food, dried meal worms, Turtle pellets, fruits and vegetables, such as raspberries and spring mix, and live super worms. Her enclosure is a kiddie pool, with bark substrate, a ceramic hidy hole, one-inch deep six-inch wide terracotta water dish, next to bay window with additional uva and uvb lamps, a flat rock for sitting and eating off of, and a food dish.

She has been in this environment for three years. She is disabled in that she only has her front legs, the back having been chewed off by a predator.

I'm in emergency mode and need input from the experts on this forum. Please help with suggesting interventions before I go to the emergency vet, which will drain financials.

Try some other live foods, such as live earthworms, live mealworms, pinky mice, or insects (cicadas, feeder roaches). The movement might stimulate a feeding response.

Also could try some small fish, live or dead might work (guppies, minnows, silversides).

Good luck!

What are the temps and humidity levels in the enclosure? In general, open-top enclosures are notoriously difficult to reach the high humidity levels that box turtles thrive in (60-80%). A hygrometer will be able to give you the humidity levels.
Other considerations:
-Did did the vet check for an intestinal impaction? This is generally done by x-ray.
-How is your turtle acting otherwise? Any other new behaviors?
-Try offering wax worms. Even the most stubborn box turtles have a hard time saying no. They're found in most major pet stores across the US (think PetSmart, PetCo).

Try offering food right after soaking.

Is it right that nothing in the environment has changed? Has her behavior changed in any other way?
