Is Echinopsis chamaecereus tortoise safe? I have tones of the stuff growing like made haha

from the picture Ive seen they have lots of spines ... How are you gonna take ALL of those off?

Thats one of the reasons I'm asking as they are covered in spines but I've heard from other people (with other cactus species) that smaller spines aren't an issue and they just get on with it.
