So this guy's Tort has delivered an egg on the floor! ..and has no idea what to do, so he asked me for help and ofcourse I'm clueless too since I haven't experienced this before. How to take care of eggs? What to do? How much time will it take for the egg to hatch? Can someone please shed some light!.. he had no clue about how to keep torts funny! But I have educated him now of whatever I know about them. IMG-20180702-WA0015.jpeg IMG-20180702-WA0016.jpeg

Is the tortoise being kept with a male? Are you sure it’s fertile? And why is the tortoise on the floor in the first place?

    That egg doesn't look viable.

This tortoise needs to be house on dirt, or some thick substrate, so that it can dig a proper nest and lay its eggs. Failure to do so might result in her becoming egg bound and dying. Tortoises should never be loose in the house on the floor. Its not safe or good for them in any way.

Here is what to do with eggs and babies:

I taught him everything from scratch I don't know him, he's a neighbour of one of my friend, he knew I am a trort Keeper so asked me about it. Since I didn't have any experience with eggs I had to ask here. We called up my vet immediately and she told us to check fertility using candle but unfortunately it wasn't fertile.
