I also had a bag that dumped out half. The other half stuck in the bag. The half that came out looked "normal". The half that stayed in the bag was much darker and smelled like rotting meat.
I did not investigate it. I threw it away.
This stuff is made for landscaping and as a decorative weed barrier.
