Viv looks a lot smaller than it is in the picture, but it’s 6ft long and 4ft wide for reference.

Shellys UV and LED lights came in today and now I’ve installed them, his enclosure looks way too bright! I’m planning on making the back half/near the wall more shaded for him but for now he has his hide that’s turned away from the lights to go to if he needs shade. Is this okay?!B141EB0D-32DA-4308-A486-6E3DB43E8F74.jpegB141EB0D-32DA-4308-A486-6E3DB43E8F74.jpegB141EB0D-32DA-4308-A486-6E3DB43E8F74.jpeg

Bright light might not be an issue depending on the species you're keeping.
It looks pretty decent to me.
What is the temperature under the CHE and elsewhere? Do you have a high humidity needing tortoise?
Hi. Beneath basking is 34ish but I don’t want to adjust the height because I figure with his shell being taller than the slate I aim my thermometer gun at, he’s most likely definitely getting 35-37c heat at shell height.
DIRECTLY beneath the CHE is around 30c but you move a few inches elsewhere, it lowers all the way down to 24c in the corners.

He’s a Greek and doesn’t need high humidity. Only reason the humidity is at 80% right now (it was at 90 yesterday and unreadably high the day before!) is because he’s recently been moved into a new viv, which meant new soil which I made a little bit too wet going in. His humidity is slowly but surely going down and once it’s at 50%ish I’ll start misting it again so it doesn’t dry out. Usually, I like to keep his humidity at 40-60%, maybe a little higher inside and around his hide.
