Elongated?

hi I'm new here and getting my first tortoise this evening! I have done my share of research but this person says this tortoise is a one year old elongated but by the looks of him i think it's a Greek. Can anyone help me with this??

can someone tell me what breed this little guy is? I'm told by the seller it's elongated....but I believe he's a Greek. One person has said sulcata.

Testudo genus for sure. So many varieties of greeks, I do not know which one. Most certainly not an elongated or sulcata.

It also looks like that kind as well!! I guess I might just have to wait and see when he grows!

Maybe it was a slip of the tongue? Enlongated/marginated tortoise sounds very similar.

They do look slightly alike but in searching a baby elongated I don't think it looks anything like my little guy that's why I was confused.

It doesn't look like elongated to me, however, the Greek and Hermanns look a lot alike as babies. Take a look at this thread and see if it helps you (I'm guessing marginated):

100% not an elongated. I can't tell Testudo babies apart, but it's one of the Testudo species.

Looks a lot like a baby marginated tort to me!

Those triangular markings on the plastron are characteristic for marginated tortoises.
Personally,I like them even better than Greeks, so I hope you are not disappointed.

(By the way, I have had a Greek tort for about five and a half years).
