Hello Everyone,
I joined the forum back in August and posted a thread "Novice needs feedback an a Indoor Enclosure for a Leopard Hatchling. " I received a lot of great advise and information from many of you. I wanted to take a moment and update you on things.
I received my Pardalis Pardalis Leopard Tortoises yesterday from Rodriguez Chelonians. She is a beauty, and we named her "Fiona".
On advise from several of you I have her home set up as following:
Enclosure: Closed Chamber 4'x3'x2'
Substrate: Coco Coir
Terra Cotta water dish & Food Plate
Make Shift Hide
Heating and Lighting: CHE is plugged into a thermostat, 65 watt incandescent flood bulb on a 10 hour timer, and florescent UV tube.
I am trying to keep an ambient temperature of 80-85 degrees in the enclosure, 100 degrees under the hot spot, and 80% humidity. She seems to be eating well and very active. I am very excited to have her home. I am sure I will be making mistakes here and there. Thanks for all the feedback.
