i've just been feeding my tortoise and was lying on the floor next to him watching and i've noticed that hes got what looks like tiny tiny little bubbles, little soap bubbles almost in the corner of his eyes, does anyone know what this could be?

I don't have a clue what it could be, but a picture of the bubbles would be helpful. I'm sure someone will be able to help you out with this soon.

Ralph has that too occasionally. It's not consistant and never for a full day with him. I just figured it's maybe dust or something and his eyes are cleaning themselves out. Now, having said that, I'm not the most experienced tort owner so here's hoping someone with much more experience will pipe up! :)

Mine do this occasionally too. I don't know why. I usually soak them and give them a good rinse when I see it. That way, IF it is something irritating their eyes, I rinse it away.

It is a result of dehydration. Give them a good soak always when you see this.

Good instinct, Tom!

Wow Tom that is a great, creepy, cool, eye close-up.

yeahh it did look like that, when i watched him closer he was breathing heavily so i've just come back form the vets and he has a RI so i've got antibiotics, hes not off his food and hes destroying the house as usual so i hope the antibiotics are enough

im going to go down the shop to buy him some nice things to eat... any suggestions on fresh greens that are best for me to hide his medicine in?

xx

p.s thanks for the help
