Nice! Are they in the same cage? That is very bad. Russians are solitary, and do horribly in pairs. Also, that water dish you're using is a death trap. Tortoises can fall in and get stuck.

Yes, Yes. Yes.

Congas on the new torts but it is not a good idea to keep Russians in pair.

The water dish is no bueno. I bought one after watching Killer struggle to get in and out I thought "that can't be good". I now have a terra cotta saucer and he's constantly in and out. I also read that some tortoises flip over and drown in it. I think those are more for lizards whose bodies aren't so rigid.

I like your wooden hide hole. Very cool.

The gray one is definitely not an option, and the tan one is too small to soak in. Look for a SHALLOW long dish.

Just to add to the ideas for a water and food dish, i use a round Pyrex casserole dish for both. Deep enough that they hold what they need, and easy enough for the tort to get in/out. The bigger one for water holds enough to just cover her plastron, and can easily sink into the substrate. Plus with being ceramic, they help keep the claws tidy. My friend has a Russian with that same grey dish, and I mentioned that it didn't seem safe, but she said she has no trouble with it. I tried....[PENSIVE FACE]

ImageUploadedByTortForum1395218761.422878.jpg this is the idea I mentioned. No chance of tortoise flipping, plus a nice basking spot for Peaches to sit and soak all day.

That last tortoise in the picture is a Greek. I'm 100% positive.
Good job on the water dish.

And again, are they in the same habitat? If so this is BAD. I mean REALLY bad.
Germs could be spread, the Russian is almost guaranteed to bully and dominate the Greek as well. You have to separate then asap.

Hey. No, the tort in the Pyrex dish is my tort, Peaches. She is a Hermanns. Thanks for the compliment on the dish though!
