Got lucky the house did not burn down today and Tank is fine! The heating lamp came loose from its fittings and fell into Tank's enclosure. I don't know how long it laid in the pen, but it caused my basement to become thick with smoke.
***Be sure to check how secure your lighting and heating sources are.

Hey Ken:

We've had quite a few threads about this subject. We encourage everyone who is using the clamp fixtures to figure out how to hang the lights instead of using the clamp. It happened to me too. I opened the lid on one of my outdoor tort houses one evening to turn off the light and the light had fallen from the clamp and landed face down in the cypress mulch. The only thing that kept it from flaming out was the fact that the bell of the light was keeping oxygen out. It was a smokey mess, and lots of burned cypress mulch, but no permanent damage.

So, hang those lights, and secure them well!

Thanks I will. I have a friend who is an electrician coming over.

O wow glad everyone was ok......I know I am going to get frowned upon especially by an electrician (I get frowned on a couple times a day anyway lol) but we wrapped the cord around the beam so it hangs and don't have to worry bout clamps coming loose and it stays secure in place.
