First eggs of the year!

This is the 10" female I posted the pictures of yesterday.She started digging right about dark this evening. Ran into some hard patches and roots,so it took about an hour for her to get the hole dug out. Once she did,it only took about 10 minutes to lay 5 eggs.

They are in the Reptobator,cooking away now.

Thanks. It's funny-I had just got through putting the last four hatchlings of the year up on the website,when I went out to check on them before it got dark.

I wash them under tepid running water. You have to be careful, as they have a slick coating.

I guess you have to do that right away, during the first 24 hours? I have read that they shouldn't be moved after that. Is that right?

I take them as soon as she gets through laying and wash them.

No good reason,other than to clean them up a bit. I'm sure the developing embryos could care less. Just seemed like the thing to do. LOL
