First enclosure any advice?

Well I thought I was done with building my outdoor day enclosure for Buddha and Miska. I put them in it and realized that I should of put the solid side walls up further and not used so much wire. Then I thought a dry river bed would be good and I could add a soaking pan in the middle of it. Not good they headed straight for the rocks and started trying to eat them then they could see out the sides and Buddha was trying to climb up and out. one of the few things I think I did do right was cap the corners and put a locking lid. So I will be having my husband redoing this tomorrow. Any other thoughts or ideas would be helpful. This is the first summer I have had them. I am still learning. I am going to add a dog house this weekend. Hope you like the pics

Wow! You've done a great job on your enclosure. Almost all of us have had to make "do-overs", so don't worry about it. We learn by our mistakes. first thing I thought was the solid sides should be higher, so we're on the same page on that one. I really like it, though. It looks like a nice, safe place to keep your tortoises. Just use a plastic plant saucer for your waterer. Sink it down level with the ground, but don't put it up next to the side wall because they'll track dirt through it when they pace the sides. It will take them a few days to get used to their new digs, but I'm sure they'll settle in quickly. Good job!!

I saw all of your pics of your great enclosure's and thought for sure they would last. I have never seen them eat like that before.. they went from one to the next one. Hopefully they will come up a lot bigger next year so they will last a little longer..lol

Thanks. I was hoping it would of turned out better but I guess that is what tweaking is for. Exp since I made so many learn as you go mistakes..lol
