This has probably been one of the worst year I had with turtles production wise.

Out of every turtle I own, one female box turtle laid a total of thirteen eggs this year. No big deal to me, one good egg is a win in my book, but I was surprised the aquatic turtles didn't lay.

I did have to move the box turtles suddenly last year, so the new area could be a factor and we had weird weather.

Originally I thought I lost all of the babies due to our power going out consistently all summer and my incubator shorting out and cooling the eggs into the 30'.

Glad to say out of the 13, 8 were still good and hopefully hatching soon. These babies should be super vibrant, because their parents are stunning. Can't wait to watch some of them grow(I promised myself not to kero them all...again).

Can't wait to see your hatchlings!

I hope that next year proves better for you as from what I've seen, you typically have some of the nicest looking babies of all types. I'm guessing it was just an off year.

Another two hatched, but one pipped and died.

I know hatchlings stimulate each other by walking over un hatched eggs, but they also can disturb one's that aren't ready to hatch, so I remove them.

This time there were only two eggs and no babies walking around. They started at the same time. I left them alone as they were perfectly fine, but the next day one dead.

I'm not sure if this was due to the power outages and malfunction of my incubator getting super cold, or something internal.

Shame, perfectly formed and phenomenal patter. Five more to hatch though!
