When I get home, I intend on taking Casper (3 month old) outside for some natural sun. Should I let her soak while in the sun for 20-30 min supervised or should I let her walk on the grass to explore?
Supervise hatchlings at all times. Very critical stage of development. While outside, keep water/soaking dish within their vicinity. I would suggest soaking afterwards if the tortoise hasn't done so themselves.
Do you have an outdoor enclosure prepared? Shade, hide spots, water, walls, and so forth? If not, watch it like a hawk. Ingesting the wrong flowers and plants when outdoors can be hazardous to their health.
Oh...I know to supervise her. I figured I give her the best of both worlds. I'll let her soak in the sun for about 10-20 min a day until a little larger. She's very active.
