Retaining fluid or overeating? New tortoise (red foot) owner Vet appointment in 7 days jan 28th.

Looking for the right questions to ask when I’m there. Planning on getting blood chemistry and stool work ups. Tec on phone noted her sulcata has this and is simply overweight.

Chimby has been puffy (feels soft) around back legs since we got them in November at only about 4 weeks old. Active and solid stool with daily soaks. Appetite is great.

pics included.
ps hello from Florida. ??

I do not keep Redfoots, but I do keep other species and that 'puffiness' is normal to the space at the top of his leg. My box turtles have it and I have seen it on other species. So I guess what I'm saying is that 'puffiness' is normal to me

Thank you! That’s relieving. I could only find a few posts on here about it when I was curious if it was normal and all I saw were a few threads about edema. A few member of a red foot group Im in said it didn’t look good and could be an organ issue...
