I found an egg in my Russian tortoise enclosure but it seems pretty large for a tortoise. It's over 1.5in long and the size of a quarter at its widest point and oblong with a hard outer surface. The yolk is visible through the shell. I can't find anything that gives me the size of a Russian egg. It was just laying in the enclosure.

They're about the size and shape of a pecan. Can you post a picture of the egg? Eggs placed on top of the ground usually aren't fertile.

Ok, thank you. I buried just in the off chance it was viable. I didnt really think it was fertile but it seemed large for a Russian so I had to ask. I wish I would have measured it, it seems larger than a pecan. I may go dig it up. Thanks again and I will post a pic if I dig it up.
